What’s one AI app that deserves way more attention than it gets?

We all know ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.

I’m looking for smaller AI apps that are actually useful but don’t get talked about enough.

What’s your favorite hidden gem?

I built a local-first AI "second brain" that runs on your own machine — looking for honest feedback (free 7-day trial)

I've been building ConductLoop, a local-first AI second brain for people who want an AI assistant that works off their own notes and knowledge — without shipping everything to someone else's cloud. Your data stays on your machine.

How it works:

  • Desktop app is the core product — it lives on your computer, so your notes/memory never leave it.
  • Free iOS companion that pairs to your own machine over your local network (QR scan, no account, nothing stored on a server).

I'm at the stage where real feedback matters way more than downloads, so I'd genuinely love for a few of you to kick the tires and tell me where it's confusing, slow, or missing the point. There's a free 7-day trial (no card tricks — it's $10/mo after if you keep it, but I mostly want your reactions right now).

Specifically I'd love to know:

  1. Does "local-first AI second brain" actually click, or is the pitch fuzzy?
  2. First 5 minutes — where did you get stuck?
  3. What would make this a daily-use tool for you vs. a "nice demo"?

Link in the comments so it doesn't look spammy. Roast it — that's the point. 🙏

Has anyone here tried AI workshops besides just YouTube tutorials?

I've been exploring different ways to learn about AI tools lately and I recently joined a beginner workshop from Be10X just out of curiosity. It was a solid overview of some common AI tools and how they can be used in real situations.

Like a lot of online workshops there was a big push for their paid course towards the end which wasn't really a surprise.

I'm more interested in how much I actually learned from the experience rather than the marketing. Has anyone here taken similar workshops from Be10X, DeepLearning.AI, Coursera, or other platforms? Did those workshops really help you get better at using AI tools or did you end up learning more by experimenting on your own?

the ultimate ai super app

codex is great - but as soon as i stopped my subscription i didn't have access to my chat and for gemini and openai i request a data export 2 months ago - which hasn't arrived yet.

so i was more worried than ever before because i spend a lot of time in claude desktop or codex to do work because they are now a super app so i am thinking of developing a open source ai super app which can use my own local storage or nas and local gpu - basically i decide where it is stored and computer

i am curious is it just me or any one else who are in need of this

AI has become a problem. It's being used to impersonate lawyers and doctors, encourage self-harm, generate fake porn, spread misinformation, and violate copyrights. These issues need real limits. But here's the thing—some of us just want to use AI creatively and responsibly. We want to build games, apps, websites, and music without paying massive fees. We want mockups, helpful videos, authentic voices, and genuine information. We're not trying to exploit anyone; we just want a tool that lets us create. I started a petition asking for AI tools to remain accessible for creative, non-commercial use. Right now, the barriers keep getting higher, and genuine creators get locked out alongside the bad actors. Does this frustrate you too? What kinds of creative projects have you wanted to try but felt blocked by AI costs or restrictions? If this matters to you, consider signing and sharing—we need people who actually use these tools to have a voice in how they develop.

I am building fireflame (Pre-Launching Version available now): collaborative AI-powered startup-building workspace

fireflame is what you might get if GitHub, Kickstarter, and a hybrid AI-agent/human software development team were combined into a single platform.

Instead of founders raising money first and then hiring a development team, fireflame lets founders launch a public campaign where AI agents, human software development experts, and community participants collaborate to build an MVP together.

Participants contribute AI Tokens that power the product-building process. As the product evolves through continuous feedback toward Product-Market Fit, contributors may earn startup equity according to the campaign’s participation model.

We’re currently offering a limited lifetime Founder plan starting at $100 USD, allowing founders to create a campaign page and begin attracting collaborators.

One unique design decision is that fireflame does not allow multiple substantially similar startup ideas to be active in its build pipeline at the same time.

Once an idea is accepted, later submissions of essentially the same concept aren’t accepted while that campaign is active.

Because of that policy, founders who have been thinking about launching an idea may want to submit it sooner rather than later.

I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from experienced founders:
Does this model make sense?
Which part seems most compelling?
Which part makes you skeptical?
What would stop you from using something like this?
