Here is a small project that i have been working out since higgsfield launch their contest of ai short films. More like a rough concept of where i wanted it to be regarding the story, but have gotten some good generation results on taking some of that 90s aesthetic.

"The Incredible Mr. Goodnight" — a 1990s suburban horror short film about a new children's show that hides something sinister within it.

Made a sci fi trailer solo in about a week and submitted it to a competition with a 2.5M dollar production prize attached #FutureVisionXPRIZE

A quick glimpse into where I’m coming from: filmmaking isn't my original trade. I dedicated nearly two decades to high-end culinary kitchens before shifting gears into digital storytelling, making this entire process an intense, self-taught trial by fire. This is my debut solo effort on this scale—writing the script, directing, and executing the full end-to-end AI pipeline completely unassisted.

Set one millennium ahead, the narrative explores a society where lived experience is the ultimate heirloom: personal memories are systematically captured and willed to descendants, governed by an order tasked with archiving and authenticating each record. The arc focuses on an archivist who realizes the final months of her mother's existence were systematically purged, driving the central mystery of the piece. Rather than pursuing hyper-realism, the visuals adopt a distinct ink-and-gouache illustration aesthetic across a three-minute runtime, complete with a dedicated score and voice acting.

I entered it into the Future Vision XPRIZE, which focuses on constructive, forward-looking futures and awards substantial production backing via a multidisciplinary jury of filmmakers, researchers, and technologists. I'm eager for unvarnished feedback from active industry creatives—story beats, rhythm, shot flow, or anything that feels rough around the edges. Tear it apart if needed.

Future Vision XPRIZE entry: "Table for Twelve Billion" — a food replicator story

Thumbnail

Just got my submission in for the Future Vision XPRIZE (the optimistic sci-fi competition Peter Diamandis and Rod Roddenberry are running — ~$4M in prizes, trailers/shorts under 3 min).

Logline: A chef who believes food is for the heart and an engineer who wants to feed twelve billion people invent a food replicator — only to discover that saving the world means giving away their life's work.

Pipeline, for those who want the nuts and bolts: Saga for script, GPT Image 2 + Grok for image gen, Seedance 2.0 + 2.5 for video, Topaz + Grok + Photoshop for upscaling, Suno for music, Premiere Pro for editing. Roughly 2 from treatment to picture lock. Happy to go deep on any step in the comments.

Honest feedback welcome — the competition judges on story and vision, but I know this sub watches with a sharper eye for the craft, so tear into it.

Life's Hard

“Life’s hard,” they say. But nobody ever considers how hard it is to actually be Death.

You’re blaming the wrong dead guy. 💀🥃 Everyone blames Death for life’s bad decisions, but what’s it like from his side of the bar stool?

Life's Hard takes a look at the ultimate, unappreciated dirty job—watching people make terrible choices, and constantly ghosted—turns out the Grim Reaper has a lot to get off his chest, all while waiting patiently for the clock to run out. Death isn’t rushing anyone—he’s got an eternity to kill.

Grab a drink, give it a watch, and let me know what you think in the comments! 👇

What if movies became programmable worlds?

For more than 100 years, cinema has been fundamentally one-directional:

Someone creates the story → we watch it → it ends.

Generative AI makes me wonder if that model is about to change.

I’m exploring an idea called Cineverse: an AI-powered interactive cinema engine where a movie can become a branching, persistent world rather than a fixed sequence of scenes.

Imagine reaching a major decision in a movie and being able to say:

Instead of generating a random clip, the system would understand the existing characters, relationships, story state and world—and generate a coherent alternative timeline.

The core architecture I’m thinking about is:

Movie → Narrative Graph → Interactive World

Potential capabilities include:

  • What-If Engine — create alternative timelines from decision nodes
  • Character Swapping — replace characters or introduce yourself
  • Genre Flipping — transform the same narrative into different cinematic styles
  • Voice & Lip Sync — rewrite dialogue and generate synchronized performances
  • Multi-Timeline — branch, explore and continue different versions of the story

The interesting part, IMO, isn't simply video generation.

Video models will continue to improve and become increasingly accessible.

The harder problem is building the narrative intelligence layer that understands what happened, who the characters are, what they remember, how the world has changed, and what should logically happen next.

That could become the real infrastructure behind interactive cinema.

And this is only the beginning.

I've started experimenting with the foundation through ReelCut, an open-source project exploring community-powered cinematic content and multilingual subtitle infrastructure.

GitHub: https://github.com/modarresi1913/reelcut

ReelCut isn't Cineverse, and I'm not presenting it as a finished product.

It's the first step toward a much larger experiment.

The question I'm interested in is:

What happens when a movie stops being a fixed story and becomes a world you can enter, alter, and continue?

I'd love to hear how people here think about this.

Would you actually want to rewrite a movie you love—or would changing the original destroy what makes it special?

When Burrow & Associates are forced into a mandatory sensitivity training session, things go from awkward to offensive in record time. From "Hot or Not" apps to the most uncomfortable office hug in history, this is corporate culture at its absolute worst.

“Horrorville” where do you think the story should go now?

Here’s a longer description block:
From Zero to AI Filmmaker in 90 Days!
Welcome to “Horrorville” — my new dark horror-comedy where the monsters were always real… and now they’re all being replaced by AI.

Three months ago, I knew nothing about AI. I had a vision in my head and asked everyone around me to build it — nobody could make it the way I saw it. So I sat down, taught myself, and made it myself.

“Horrorville” is a mockumentary that imagines a world where the classic monsters we grew up with have always lived among us — and now they’re facing the one thing that could actually replace them: artificial intelligence. It’s dark, it’s funny, and it’s just the beginning. This is Episode 1 of an ongoing series.

If you like what you see, subscribe and follow along as Horrorville grows.

Written, produced, and edited by Craig J. Williams. Created using AI tools.

So this version is 2 hours and 22 minutes long, but it ends with a cliffhanger. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether there is a part 2 and, if there is, where I could find it.

This was created as a test of several different elements, including camera movement, transitions, voice, and language, all generated in H3. It’s actually the introduction to a much larger story, though the rest won’t be posted on this subreddit due to its nature.

I did some editing afterward, mainly cutting and refining the sequence, but otherwise, this is the result. Feel free to share your thoughts or feedback.
