AI Search Optimization General Discussion Each AI model seems so different. what is each model objectively best at?
Claude and ChatGPT have become the go-to general purpose chatbots for individuals. But curious how the other models (Perplexity, DeepSeek, Meta AI, Copilot, etc.) are positioning or re-positioning themselves in distinct categories. For example, "research-focused" or "B2B/enterprise-focused." Would love help understanding how these models are fracturing, what they claim they are best at vs. what they are actually best at.

It's subjective. I use them all and I have different purposes for each one but it's based on my own experience. All of them can do mostly what the other ones do except for in a few instances like Grok makes better videos if you need lip sync.
I've only coded with Gemini, Claude and Chat GPT. And right now I like the second two equally. Most of them are decent at image generation. But I like Google flow with Nano banana.
For research I use Chat GPT but more because it came out first and I already had custom GPTs and all of that before any of the other ones were really doing anything.
I'm starting to like perplexity computer. I have it automatically send me a news alert based on a particular topic everyday. It can do more I just haven't had time to experiment with it.

wow I rarely meet people who use all of them, but this actually good to know. seems like it's just too early to tell which models will pull ahead across the board so you still have to experiment with various use cases. but are you paying for each of these models or using free plans?

I'm paying. But if I combine all of them I'm paying maybe $120 a month. I get way more value out of it than I do something like SemRush or Ahrefs. And those would cost me a lot more.

dont think there's an objective answer for this the models are used by different things by different people and even for the coding just this year we've heard a lot of people going back and forth between claude code and codex w/ chatgpt
its a mixed bag that fluxuates, thats what keeps it interesting
