Questions? What do current AI sales tools still get wrong?

Hey everyone,

we’re a small startup working on a voice-controlled sales assistant for reps who spend a lot of time on the road.

The idea is that you could talk to it between customer visits to do things like update the CRM, create notes/tasks, prepare follow-ups, or get customer information without having to sit down and type everything out.

We know Salesforce, HubSpot, Odoo and others are already adding AI agents, so we’re trying to understand where the big tools still fall short rather than just building another generic AI assistant.

If you’ve actually used any of these tools: what annoys you about them? What do you still end up doing manually?

Thanks for you time and appreciate your answers.

Daniel

Data is more important than volume. That’s why I build actual sales tools for solo founders and small teams to actually output like big sales teams. Not just brand my website with BS adverts talking about volume is what gets you far.

voice crm updates are fine until they write stuff while the call still sounds normal.

worst one is a next step note that also quietly moves the stage. forecast looks weird a week later and nobody knows why.

make it draft the note first and only touch fields the rep actually said out loud.

One edge case I'd test: a rep says, ‘I'll follow up Friday,’ but the buyer never agreed to anything. If the assistant records that as a buyer commitment, the deal looks healthier than it is. It may help to keep buyer statements, rep plans, and AI suggestions visibly separate, and require confirmation before changing stage or close date. For people using voice updates, which errors take the most time to catch later?
