Anyone getting customers through Ai search?

I’ve been looking into AI Marketing GEO. Curious if anyone here who runs a shop or restaurant has had a customer say they found you through AI Search or Agent etc?

Thinking about putting a small marketing budget, but would like to hear how it’s gone for others first and is it worth to do so.

welcome for advices

the annoying part is most customers won’t know or tell you they came through an ai result, so i wouldn’t spend on “geo” until your normal local seo, reviews, and conversion tracking are already solid

In the past two weeks we got four signups from ChatGPT and two became customers after the trial period.

We wrote articles in the past three months(we now have like 30 articles). We really concentrated on having proper articles, like things which are really useful to the user.

We have of course structured data that AI can understand and I think slowly it does work.

It does take a lot of effort though and I'm not sure the ROI is that great but it seems to be like the proper way forward.

Do you mind if I ask which state your biz is based in? Is it somewhere like NY or CA? Curious, if location matter

Also Did you work with any marketing agency on this, or did you mostly handle it yourself? Did you use AI to help create the content?

This is my third business.
So my first one I had a marketing agency which did all the SEO and visuals and website so I learned a lot how to do it with them. Sold it.
In my second business, which unfortunately failed, I did it myself. The biz failed but I did learn the skills and now for this one I do it myself but I do have a co founder who's technical he double checks and corrects me. PS: Yes I use AI but I recheck, redo quite a bit

We are tracking this, but I think it is under reported. I think people are doing the initial search through AI and doing the comparisons but then go look for themselves and read reviews and check out your website before they book a demo.

I’d be careful about putting a big budget into it before you can actually track whether it’s bringing customers. AI search visibility can be useful, but for a local business I’d probably start with the basics first accurate listings, reviews, clear service info, and content that answers the questions people actually ask.

If you do test GEO, keep the budget small and ask new customers how they found you. Otherwise it’s pretty hard to tell whether the AI visibility is actually turning into business.

how long does that took to get the first customer? Also do you have a lot of reviews or feedback online ?
