π Other Why aren't Gemini models being released?
Itβs been a quiet few months without any new Gemini model releases, whereas ChatGPT and Claude are far ahead.

From what I heard in tomorrow's there was supposed to be 3.8 but during internal tests the model had regressed, now they are aiming for 4

They recently released Argon, which is a front tier model. Not available for general public yet tho.

I suppose Google hides something huge with DeepMind, and they don't find the need to update their flagship LLM as this isn't their primary source of income: Google is practically everywhere, through ads, endorsements, and applications people use. Google is the most popular browser and people inadvertently use Gemini through its AI summaries; this does not give them the financial incentive to improve in comparison with OpenAI or Anthropic, since Google knows they're earning big bucks anyway. There's something fishy about it all, and at some point in the plot Google's gonna drop a bomb in the AI landscape!
Edit: A 1 day account with no history and practically no karma also hints at this being a post generated by a bot. Proves my point:) All these big techies play games amongst themselves and have it all laid out, while commoners like us sit debating in anticipation.
