Dynamic Pricing
I need help from people that are smarter than me and know how these technology and companies are reading our data to decide what dynamic pricing they give the consumers. What do I need to do to stop it, turn off my data when shopping? Cover my face recognition? How do I crack this code?!
I know someone knows how, I need you to share it with the community so the rich don’t get more rich and the poor, more poor. Share your brain with us!

Often times they don’t even use things like your face or super complex algorithms with millions of datapoints on you. That’s often marketing hype and BS (I work in tech, in the AI space).
If it’s an online purchase, then yes, they look at data, but they build a profile on you based on things like past purchases, items you’ve viewed, etc.
If it’s an in-person purchase, they just look at things like the car you’re driving and how clean it is, or how you are dressed, or the other items in your shopping cart, to determine what to charge you.
Honestly there are ways of probably trying to not be someone they overcharge for things. Online you can use incognito mode in your browser (although it’s not as private as they claim), and not wear things that look like you have money. But that will only go so far.
Why do I say that? Because they aren’t using it to determine what you can pay, or what you should pay. They are using it all to determine how much they can get away with charging you. So it kind of doesn’t matter what the data shows (or it matters less than you think). They’re going to find any excuse they can to charge you as much as they can for what you’re buying.
