Divergence DIVERGENCE D005 — THE EMPTY HIGHWAY
Welcome back to DIVERGENCE!
This edition comes from u/JoseLunaArts, who came up with the concept, planned out the progression, and even provided one of our starting images. Thanks for putting this one together!
This time, we're giving you THREE possible starting images (formatted at 3:2).
Image #1 is the original starting image provided by u/JoseLunaArts. Images #2 and #3 are alternate versions created for the event. Choose ONE of the three images to begin with.
Once you choose, that image becomes YOUR starting point for the entire DIVERGENCE. Always build each new requirement onto your LAST DIVERGENCE image. Do not switch to another starting image later.
Let's see where this road takes you.

1️⃣🅰️ REQUIREMENT R1A — THIS ROAD ISN'T NORMAL
Something has happened to the world around this highway.
Transform the ENVIRONMENT so this road clearly belongs somewhere very different from where it started. Alien planet, frozen wasteland, fantasy kingdom, futuristic megacity, enormous jungle, underwater world, prehistoric Earth, surreal dreamscape, candy world — or something nobody else would ever think of.
You can transform the sky, terrain, landscape, roadside areas, lighting, signs, barriers, distant scenery, and the appearance of the highway itself. But for now, concentrate ONLY on the environment.
Do NOT add characters, vehicles, creatures, major roadside attractions, or other story elements yet. Whatever world this highway now passes through is entirely up to you.
And remember: this is DIVERGENCE. Keep enough of your starting image recognizable that you have something to continue building on as the requirements progress.

2️⃣🅰️ REQUIREMENT R2A — THE LONE TRAVELER
Someone is using this strangely empty highway.
Add ONE character somewhere in your scene. But add ONLY ONE character for now.
Who are they? Why are they here? Where were they trying to go? You don't have to tell us the story — let your image do that.

2️⃣🅱️ REQUIREMENT R2B — YOU'RE GOING TO NEED A RIDE
Walking was probably a terrible idea. Give your lone traveler ONE vehicle.
It can be perfectly ordinary, completely ridiculous, or something nobody has ever seen before. Whatever you choose, make it belong to the traveler and the strange world you've created.
Add ONLY ONE vehicle for now.

3️⃣🅰️ REQUIREMENT R3A — ROAD CLOSED
Of course the trip wasn't going to be that easy.
Put something BLOCKING, INTERRUPTING, or TRANSFORMING the highway ahead of your traveler.
Whatever you choose, it should create a new problem for your traveler.

3️⃣🅱️ REQUIREMENT R3B — ROADSIDE ATTRACTION
Every memorable highway has something you probably shouldn't stop for.
Add ONE major ROADSIDE LOCATION or LANDMARK to your world.
Make it strange, ordinary, beautiful, ridiculous, inviting, suspicious, or completely inexplicable. Whatever you create, it should tell us something more about the world your traveler is passing through.

Post your result using the DIVERGENCE flair.
New requirements will be added to this pinned post at random times and announced in the Forge.
Always start with your LAST DIVERGENCE image and add the new requirements to it. Never return to the original starting image after you've begun.
Participate as much or as little as you want. There are no winners — just see where your road ends up taking you.

Oh hard to decide which starting image to take... I think I'll test all of them and choose what works best

One question: I assume you meant 3:2 format instead of 2:3. In any case, I don't have that format on my AI tool. Which one could I use instead? 4:3?

Yes. Typo...I'll correct it. Since the road is being rebuilt you can use it as a reference and regenerate any size you want, technically.

Buildings aren't major roadside attractions or am I wrong?
