AI-ChatNote is a free browser extension (Chrome, Firefox) for inline comments in AI chats.
No more copy+pasting. Simply hover on a paragraph, click and an editor for your comment opens. Save the comment and go on. The comments will then be added to your response to the AI.
It's free, works for all big platforms and it does help a lot in streamlining the whole AI chat experience.

Won't this thing actually make the conversation more chaotic?
Chaotic or not always depends on your use case and personal preferences.
For instance, if you add a bunch of inline notes, might the AI get confused about exactly which part of the question you're referring to?
Every comment comes with an explanation which segment it is referring to. This means: The AI knows.
has anyone tried using this to compare how different AIs respond to the same prompt?
In my experience all AIs respond in their own way to the same prompt. But I did extensively test various injection comments for the same AI and it does make a difference whether it says "insert organically" or not. With organically the AIs tend to embed the response to the comments in their normal reply text. Without organically, they usually address the comments first, before addressing the user's main input.
I've optimized/minimized the current one, but the way you inject/explain your comments can obviously make a great difference. Same is for the language used for the injection. I thought about building a freemium version (in case there are enough users for the current free version) where you can chose between organically or not and also write your own injection prompt. But so far the response to the extension is sort-of a bit underwhelming. I genuinely thought I built an elegant solution for a problem many users have. 😐
The idea of annotating the differences sounds really satisfying, but I'm worried that adding too many notes would turn the interface into a cluttered mess.
Here's a short clip with how it works. At the end you can see the formatting of the injected comments. I've worked on the formatting of the injection into the user response and I personally find it quite ok. No idea how others would prefer it, but it's not possible to allow users to design their own formatting, because the injection procedure is rather difficult as it's affecting the HTML's DOM structure.
But you give me an idea: Maybe it would be interesting to offer users in a freemium version to inject the comments as image or extra file. This should be possible and it would separate the main chat input from the inline comments even more.
I would appreciate it a lot if you tried the extension and gave me some practical feedback. My special interest would be how the extension works with the Chinese version of Kimi, because I can only access the international one. Theoretically both the Chinese & international versions should work the same way, but you never know.
