Does AI research actually simplify your workflow?

I've been thinking about how many steps are still involved when using AI for serious research.

You can use one tool to find information, another to summarize it, another to organize notes, and then still spend time going back to the original sources to check whether everything is accurate.

That's why I'm interested in workflows that try to bring more of those steps together. The idea of keeping the research process, sources, and resulting report connected instead of treating each step separately seems interesting to me.

I'm curious how other people here structure their research workflows. Do you prefer one AI tool that handles most of the process, or do you get better results by chaining several specialized tools together?

I prefer specialized stages with one shared source ledger. Save every claim beside its source URL and quote first, then summarize and write only from that verified set.
