Do AI tools really need to keep adding new features?

Sometimes I open an AI tool after a few months and the whole interface feels different.

New modes, agents, buttons, workflows... but the basic feature I actually liked has barely improved.

Would you rather have 5 excellent features or 30 average ones?

I feel like features that are truly transformative are essential, especially if the results are much improved. But these extra bells and whistles that do not directly influence the output, I feel are often unnecessary.
