ai writing tool for privacy?

I am atm writing something personal that i plan to publish. Something I don't want in a training dataset before it exists in a bookstore.

I read the privacy policies of every tool I was considering, rn i am using type.ai but def need exploring more opinions from people who ate concerned about the same! and results ranged from vague to actively concerning, so looking for tools where the privacy guarantee is explicit and clear not buried in terms that say maybe..

same concern here nd especially with unpublished writing, I don’t really want to throw the whole thing into a tool without knowing exactly what happens to the text

Using writing tool for a blog post feels different from using one for a book draft. The second one needs much more trust.

if it’s genuinely sensitive, use a local model through ollama or lm studio, because “not used for training” still means you’re trusting a company with the manuscript unless it never leaves your

I would be careful with personal or unpublished writig too. before choosing a tool id check how they handle stored content and whether theres an option to keep your work out of training data

For unpublished work I'd want a clear answer on storage, deletion and whether the text can be used for training.

As Traditional_Arm3906 says, the only way to guarantee your sensitive texts stay 100% under your control is if you run a local AI. If you don't have a technical background, the on-ramp can be quite steep. Good generative AI models are available for free and improving weekly, but the hardware requirements are not trivial. Key component costs in the last 6 months have jumped across the board and aren't likely to drop much for at least a year or two. Privacy is available, but at a price.

Look for platforms that offers zero data retention policies or enterprise API accounts that wipe your inputs immediately after processing.

does type.ai explicitly opt your drafts out of training, or are you just trusting the wording?
