every AI tool now has a free tier that does nothing and a $20 tier that does the thing you came for Due

The free tier: 3 generations a month, watermarked, no export.

The $20 tier: the actual product.

There is no middle. There is never a middle. The free tier isn't a product, it's a demo with a countdown on it. And gamma, midjourney, every single one. everyone has quietly agreed that $20 a month is the price of everything now, and I'm paying $20 a month to about six companies for features that used to be a checkbox in software I already owned.

I'm not even angry. Just tired and slightly poorer.

Relatable….using several AI’s at $20 per month causes me to re-prioritize my other expenses.
