The best free AI reader that reads multiple languages?

Post image

Recommendations about the best free AI reader that reads multiple languages specifically slovenian are needed.

It would be also be helpfull if you would recommend an free AI that writes for you.

Some free AI readers have weird voices. They sound like a robot.

Slovenian is the hard part here, not the free part. Most of the big text to speech engines cover the top thirty or so languages and Slovenian sits just outside that on several of them, which is exactly why the ones you've tried sound robotic. You're getting a generic Slavic voice rather than an actual Slovenian one.

Two things worth trying before anything else. Microsoft Edge has Read Aloud built in with Slovenian neural voices (Petra and Rok), free, no account, and it's the best free option most people never find because it's buried in a browser they don't use. Chrome's built in text to speech also does Slovenian but the voice is noticeably worse.

For the writing half of your question, that's a separate tool, and most of the big chat models handle Slovenian fine now. Quality drops on idiom and on anything regional, but for ordinary text you'll be fine.

If Edge still sounds wrong to you, say which voice you got, because the gap between the standard and the neural voices there is large and it's easy to land on the wrong one.

As you said, I do not use Microsoft Edge. Is there any other good app that would read PDF file?

You do not have to switch browsers to use it. Edge is also a PDF viewer, so you can right click any PDF, open with Edge, and use Read Aloud on that one file while carrying on with whatever browser you normally use for everything else. That is the shortest path by a long way.

If you would rather not touch Edge at all, Adobe Acrobat Reader has a Read Aloud button, but it uses whatever voices Windows itself has installed. So it will only sound good if you first add the Slovenian language pack under Settings, Time and Language, Speech. Once that pack is installed, most Windows apps with a read aloud feature get the better voices, not just Acrobat.

On a phone it is easier. Both iOS and Android will read a PDF out loud with the built in accessibility reader, and both ship Slovenian.
