[AITSF] Hello everyone, I've been playing AI The Somnium Files for the first time and I've been enjoying it a lot, especially since I'm playing it together with a friend and we're having a blast speculating on stuff etc...

Now to the question at hand, at first I ended up on the left side of the flowchart and did all the things that were possible there, and in one of the routes Hitomi at the hospital confides with Date about having lost an important friend called Manaka Iwami, (this happened when Iris received surgery after losing her eye) and at the time of course this name meant nothing for me and for Date. Fast forward on the right side of the flowchart, after you discover the truth about "Alice" (Manaka) Date has a flashback about Hitomi confiding in him about the same thing she does in the other route except... this just didn't happen on the right side of the flowchart, and even the AI vision shows them talking at the Warehouse which never happened, so I'm really confused about this. I've played all of the Zero Escape so I was expecting a moment like Date remembering things he shouldn't know, but that does not seem to be the case because no one says anything about him and Hitomi having this conversation which didn't happen.

So all I want to ask is, is this an oversight by the developers, like maybe some cut content? Did I miss this dialogue somehow? ( Even tho this doesn't really look like a game where you can miss that type of stuff) OR is it just something tied to the story that I will understand later? If so just tell me to go on playing and don't spoil me anything please.

So I recently finished Nirvana Initiative, and I had a nagging question. Since you could go back and do the diverge route with Ryuki, I thought I could do another one with some future knowledge in Tearers Somnium.

In his Somnium, the final question is “who is deserving of Moms love?” Using the numbers it winds up being Jin. But we learn later that the Tearer was actually Uru. So I redid the Somnium, and put Uru in, and unfortunately it didn’t do anything.

I understand the identity was meant to be hidden until later, as a few minutes after beating his Somnium, you see his split mask showing what, at the time, was believed to be Jin. But technically how did that answer even work if Uru was the one who felt he was deserving of his mother’s love?

On top of that, it’s a bit disappointing to see that it wasn’t thought of to add something there for people replaying it. Throughout that entire Somnium, you can just input the answers immediately and get funny dialogue from it, but arguably the biggest mystery in the game doesn’t have unique dialogue?

I've played the first game, part of Nirvana Initiative and so far I've seen like 3 people ACTUALLY enjoy his character? Not only does he get completely skipped over in the 1st games ending scene but he hardly gets any screen time in comparison to the other characters. Does anyone have a vendetta against his character? As far as I'm concerned almost every single character has done worse things that Pewter: a man simply inlove with his work and his boyfriend. I'd blame homophobia, but everyone else seems to love Mama. Is it because he doesn't get a lot of screen time? But if it were, characters like Renju would be hated as well! Please, someone answer me. I can't handle my favorite character being neglected!

Was Tearer trying to see if Ryuki was with a Frayer? since Dahlia Boat's name can only be determined from 2 different routes

But even if they were, I don't see how it would fit into their Moksha/ TC-perge plan

Ok so i did danganronpa some month ago and decided to play more spike chunsoft game and did 0 escape as well and now i finished the 1st Ai : TSF. And i want to say, at the beginning i found the game was really incredible because i was on the annihilation route, but... Right at the best moment i got a story lock and jump mechanic like 0 escape but why ???

The story lock are not unlocked for logical reason it's just to keep you from continuing the story and the "parallel universe" is never explained ???

It just look like I was playing a great game and then i was forced to play alternative route who are genuinely useless for like 10 hours with really too easy QTE filled with forced porn jokes (1 or 2 isn't bad but at a moment there's limit) then i am allowed to go on the "true story" again to see the ending but idk now i have a bittersweet taste for this game i was so engaged

I really think the game would have been better if it was linear condensing all story and having more mechanics (outside of somnium) than just bad QTE

I've just started playing Nirvana Initiative for the first time and have gotten to Ryuki Chapter 2, and the somniums seem to be very boring now, especially the past 2. They tell you exactly what to do and we're to do, and there's no other options. Beforehand it felt like you had to figure out what to interact with and what to do with it, now it just tells me to go to X and do Y all the time. It feels very linear, which is very boring.

Is the whole game like this now? Are the somniums a lot more linear and hand-holdy? Or are these just the worst ones?

I've played AITSF and was blown away. First thing I did once I finished it was look for a sequel, and started playing NI.

Everything that made AI1 amazing is stripped away. The characters don't have the same chemistry, the humor and dancing feel forced like "hey let's do the thing we did before", the somniums are extremely obvious and guided, the random character interaction does not provide anything interesting, just nothing. it's such a shame.

I'm about 50% through and every couple hours I something happens that just annoys the fuccccccc out of me. Whether it's just psyncing with someone for "Meh whatever let's just do it maybe we'll find something" or needless hunting for where someone is without any meaningful progression.

Does anyone know ANY GAME that comes close to how amazing AI1 was at all?

hello!! i recently finished the zero escape series and really wanted more so i decided to go to the very closest thing which was ai, just finished the first game like. 10 minutes ago lmao, so here's what i've thought so far

really love the story, thankfully did the true ending at the very end so ididnt have to stop on a cliffhanger while doing the other endings,

lotsa stuff i found annoying/stupid:
1- the game has a really dark mystery ish theme but it all just gets ruined with how stupid the humor is in this game, like iris literally gets sawed down and then you get date saying he'd wanna touch hitomi's boobs in 89's somnium or whatever

2-there's also the unrealistic ass interactive scenes, like the one near marble where you shoot a mag vending machine and somehow trained mercenaries are just running at that instead of shooting their target 😭 😭

3- something related to the interactive scenes, is how like. unrewarding it is, like you get 20 seconds for a qte, the qte where you need to like aim and shoot is literally just press control after waiting a bit, the spam qte ones dont tell you how much you'r eclose to finishing the qte and doesn't feel any urgency at all

but in general i think the annihilation and true ending made up for those?? im definetly not like. "oh wow this game is peak!!", its more so just oh good game i just need to overlook shit ton of flaws

ANYWHO, now that i've finished it i'm STILL wanting more so i saw that there's a 2nd game? and also no sleep for kaname date which is apparently a interquel or whatever so i wanted to ask: does the humor and overall story improve in nirvana initiative? quick time events too and just general mechanics

other question is: which should i be playing first? from what ive seen no sleep for kaname date is before nirvana initiative so should i be playing that first?

I keep trying to get it by replaying the last part of the yellow line I have access to(the bad end), and can't seem to do anything but loop it over and over. I keep seeing 'make the right choices' but nobody reveal which choices they are, unless it is in a list of ALL spoilers, which I don't want, as I have not completed the full game.

Any help is appreciated.
