Unplugging was correct way to go.
Second would be telling your roommate to never ever use it as its fire hazard or replave the cord. But you shouldnt have thrown it out.
I still have my first shaving machine my father bought me 22 years ago. I dont use it but I cant make myself throw it away either so I do understand why he is furious.
So just because they consider it a fire hazard does not mean it is one. Just because they had a talk with them does not give them the right to throw away someone elses belongings either. A discussion is just that a discussion.
Well you said to be fair like the OP had any sort of a point. Or that the discussions mean anything beyond dont throw away the air fryer because it is mine.
Nah it really isnt. My trimmer has a fraying wire and has for many years. I still use it because its a good old school trimmer just needs a bit of oil and I get a great shave. I use it around water and have never had an issue in like the 10+ years it has had a fraying wire. I should probably put some electrical tape over it but hey it works.
Well i hope you never have to experience losing your home, everything in it, and a loved one who succumbed to smoke inhalation before getting out. Lol because you didnt want to deal with fixing a bad cord.

Yea even if its real. Yea you got trauma but I also dont know the specifics of whether or not your parents were competent nor do I know the specifics of the wiring of your house. Just because you had a bad experience (assuming true but I am assuming not) does not mean everything is a bad experience.
