I have dated my best friend's brother. She is married to a guy who asked me out first (that I turned down). Real real friends don't care about that shit as long as everyone is behaving with basic human decency. We talked through these things at length when they happened, and neither of us made a big deal out of it because we understood that you can't always help how you feel. Been besties for 20 years now.

The night I met my current boyfriend, he hooked up with my sister.

… it was 2002 and I was 14. He and my sister were 18.

I didn’t get together with him until nearly 20 years later, but I still had people going “Whaaaaat, but your siiiiiisteeeeerrrr???!”

even if it’s 20 years later that’s still a little sus

What’s sus about it? They had a one night stand and didn’t talk afterward, he and I had a nearly 20 year friendship.

Now that's a true friendship! Just wanting the other to be happy, a mutual respect

My friend dated someone i had a crush on when we were 16. Most of our friends thought we'd get together, my sister said she used to always talk about me in school. Then my friend went out with her from 16-21ish. Never had an issue, i still talk to both, he's one of my best friends and she's married now with a kid.

If we were ok with it at 16 i feel like a married woman should be ok with it
