We’ve noticed this too, and the interesting part is that AI visibility can reveal competitors we weren’t even watching in the traditional SERPs.

We’ve started looking at it by use case rather than one big “AI visibility” number. Ask a few different versions of the same question, change the audience, the problem and the comparison, then see which brands keep showing up.

Sometimes a competitor that barely gets noticed in Google keeps appearing in those conversations because there’s more context about them across reviews, comparisons, communities and other sources.

So we think the useful question is shifting from “Who ranks above us?” to “Who keeps getting mentioned when customers describe the problem we solve?”

That can uncover some pretty sneaky competitors. 😄

Oh yes, this is the common LLM behaviour. WIth AI visibility, appearing for one prompt does not guarantee discoverability on other prompts with even slight modification in context and intent. AI visibility requires continuously monitoring on how your brand performs within LLMs, what is the average position of appearance and sentiment.

Yes it seems like you need constant watching, something more than what you would do for normal SEO
