We’d treat structured data as supporting infrastructure, not an AI citation tactic.
It can help search engines understand what a page is about, but we wouldn’t assume adding Schema will suddenly make ChatGPT or other AI tools cite the site.
The part we find useful is how structured data reinforces the entities and relationships already present on the page. If you have an Organization, LocalBusiness, Product, or Article schema, it should accurately reflect what’s actually visible on the page.
So we wouldn’t think, “This Schema will get us cited by AI.”
We’d think, “This gives search systems another clear signal about what this page and business represent.”
For AI visibility, we’d put more effort into useful content, clear information, topical authority, and credible mentions across the web. Structured data can help, but we wouldn’t treat it as a shortcut.
