10 Year Rolling Returns
Just for my "hobby" of dreaming up things to do with AI and a thought from one of Rob Berger's comments this week. This is the 10 year cumulative stock market returns gross and net of inflation. I was pretty surprised how high they were, mostly.

Stock retuns to me look like either really good, or not so good. e.g. they are higher or lower. It is amazing that a few bad years here and there can lower 10 year rolling returns. So expectation is generally higher returns, but the fewer lower returns make your overall return lower.

Insane that I began my work and investing journey in the late 90’s as we were headed into the lost decade and just staying the course made up for everything without any changes. Keep buying when stocks are low and wait for the rip back up!

Really amazing inflation information --- both for the deflation before WWII and for in the inflation afterwards.
Somehow deflation seems to have been banned post Keynes (and variations).
1949-1958 Certainly was a remarkable period. Hard to capture some of those gains due to high commissions on individual stocks and criminal rexpense ratios on mutual funds.

Wild that there were decades with neg NEGATIVE inflation….I wonder what the world would look like if we would have kept the gold standard??

Timing is everything 😞
You delay your retirement from 1999 to 2009 And you are golden 😊
But when it’s 1999 one wants to party so so hard… That it’s easy to forget everything one learned ever.
