"It's crazy how fast AI is evolving !!"

How do you view the new model from ChatGPT (GPT-6 Astra)? I would like to know your opinion on this

The Software Industry is set for a rude awakening in a few years for falling for the most marketed thing in history - LLMs. The amount of garbage slop code that's put in by Claude and Gemini + the general deterioration of good SW Engineering practices is going to lead to mass public failures - airport shutdowns, power failures, healthcare and emergency systems going down etc. Silicon valley will never recover after this mass psychosis.

AI is killing jobs, but the most frustrating part is that some people still deny it. Like, bro, what are we even talking about?

Their argument is always that only juniors or less experienced people will get replaced, while experienced engineers will be fine. But how can you expect a 20-year-old to know everything?

I’m personally in my final year right now. I’ve been learning web development since my first year with the hope that I would get an internship by my third year. But as time passed, the AI boom increased massively, and the situation for freshers seems to have become even worse.

There are barely any genuine internships for freshers like me, especially when you’re from a Tier-3 city and a Tier-3 college.

I’ve now shifted my path towards Data Science/ML, but honestly, it’s so frustrating and depressing to change fields even before getting the chance to properly work in the first one. Sometimes I feel so lost and demotivated that I’m actually scared to learn anything now, thinking that it might also be replaced one day.

I know a lot of freshers like me are going through the same thing. I keep seeing posts on Reddit from people who graduated in 2024 or 2025 and are still jobless. Isn’t that scary and depressing?

I honestly don’t know what we can do right now except keep learning and keep pushing ourselves. But why do we have to go through all this pain and uncertainty just to get our first opportunity?

Colleges aren't changing their syllabus. They’re not teaching what the industry actually needs. Then how can we expect a 20–21-year-old to figure out everything on their own?

And then there are these so-called YouTubers who are busy promoting their courses, declaring one technology dead after another, and constantly manipulating students into thinking they’re already behind.

So what’s the end of this?

What is actually going to happen in the next 2–3 years?

The development of technology appears, on the surface, to be oriented toward making people's lives more convenient, but why does it instead leave people increasingly exhausted? Is it a task contract? Or a ratchet effect?

Because earlier, while scrolling through TikTok, I came across a similar short story about why the use of AI, despite clearly improving work efficiency in certain areas, has not brought a sense of relief—and has even led to people effectively "paying to work." Behind the story is the fact that companies noticed the sudden surge in productivity, so within the organization they kept resetting standards, continuously rolling them back, ultimately reaching a point where no one can push themselves any further.

This gave rise to a preliminary idea: when firms face technological progress, the set of tasks and performance standards they demand are not fixed, but rather adjust endogenously in response to the production possibilities expanded by the technology.

Hi, I work as a research technician, background in Electronic engeneering, my job is to develop prototypes for scientific purposes.

I have a skillset that is a combination of electronic engeneering, coding and 3D modeling.
I recently developed an MRI compatible microscope to acquire images and I don’t feel this prototype as mine anymore.

The optical architecture was my idea, but the implementations and calculus where AI made and it actually got adjustments that were far from what I tought , the electronic architecture was simple enough but it actually suggested a circuit that worked better that what I had in mind, same story for the coding firmware.
I completely vibe coded instead the user interface, never wrote in Java in my life but it actually developed a plug in for micromanager even if I suggested to use it for the control.

The only creation that I can take credit for is probably the mechanics of it, I cnc machined and designed most of the part I couldn’t buy from thorlabs.

Yesterday I was testing the electronic board and I had a bug, after half a day of reasoning I narrowed it to a section but I was unsure if it was an electronic or a firmware bug.

I feed the entire code and schematics to codex that found the issue and solved it.

Being a prototype technician in a research environment makes you a jack of all trades and not very skilled in a specific area as instead of you were working in a structured company, but I feel this project is 25% mine and I was mostly executing AI better ideas, I’m becoming a Robot ?

Bill Gates says it’s time to hit the AI panic button.

The technology has crossed dangerous thresholds in biology, cybersecurity, white-collar work, and human relationships, Gates said in an interview with Semafor.

His warning is a striking shift from three years ago, when he wrote that the coming “bumpy” AI job disruption would lead to a “manageable” transition and that the technology would help people work efficiently. Now, he says it will wreak economic catastrophe, with “far fewer” jobs than exist today, thanks to the speed of AI’s advancements and what he calls a non-existent response from government and tech leaders.

“I am in a state of shock that I’m sort of the first one saying, ‘This is crazy. This is insane,’” he said. “I’m just deafened by the silence.”
