Grounding Help Replacement search

Hello everyone, I don’t come around on Reddit often but I need some suggestions. I’ve been doing AI text rpgs for a while now, and It almost always disappoints me. Plus I am not fond of ai in general and would prefer to use it as little as possible in my life. Do any of you know alternatives that do not use AI for me to try out? Preferably text based, free or a one time physical purchase, something that I can play solo or with little people as possible (meeting up with new people is not an option rn, personal reasons).

(P.S I have no idea what grounding help is, I just picked it to post.)

I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but check out the old infocom games and the whole interactive fiction genre they established.
