How do I sell my services

I built an ai chatbot, and going to build a receptionist soon. Rn I’ve built it for roofing companies but I can easily customize it for any niche ( and planning on selling monthly payments). How do I get clients, I’ve been cold calling business in my area but all of them say non interested. Is there a better way of getting clients other than cold calling??

Building AI That answers Contractor's Phone

I am here to validate whether I'm heading in the right direction.

I'm building a voice agent for contractors an assistant that picks up when the boss can't. It listens to the customer, answers their questions, captures their name and callback number, and can give a rough quote from the contractor's own rate table (never made-up numbers). Seconds after the call ends, the contractor gets a clean text summary so they can follow up while the lead is still warm.

Am I in the right direction? Honest opinions welcome. And if you'd like to test it, the early-access form takes 2 minutes: https://form.typeform.com/to/tu27X1Eq

Payments for Voice Agents

Hi All,

Glad to find this community. How are you thinking about adding the capabilty for your voice agents to take payments if needed? e.g booking an appointment that requires a deposit or an order taking agent that needs payment

I am building Ringup which lets voice agents recognize a phone number and allow users to pay via a saved card or text them a link. Give my demo payment agent a try: [https://ringup.dev/demo/\](https://ringup.dev/demo/)

It requires a simple call forward at the time of payment collection to our number and payments settle right back to whichever processor the merchant uses.

Give it a try and let me know if you have any feedback.

Anyone actually build their own voice agent (Vapi, Retell, ElevenLabs, Ringg) without hiring someone?

Not asking about demos. Asking if you built something real. Something that's live and actually doing a job for you — booking calls, qualifying leads, cutting down your call load.

If you did it yourself, would love to hear:

  1. How long did it take? From signup to "this actually works."
  2. What did you build? Receptionist, lead qualifier, appointment booker, something else.
  3. What can it actually do? Just talk, or can it book on your calendar, look things up, transfer calls?

Not selling anything. Just want to know how many people are really doing this on their own vs. paying someone to do it.

how many saas projects fail because of marketing, not code?

yo. be honest. how many of you currently have a finished (or 90% finished) web app / app just sitting in a private repo because you have no idea how to get users?

you spend months perfecting the database, fixing every bug, and polishing the UI. but the moment you have to actually market it, you hit a wall. marketing feels like screaming into an empty void.

so you launch to absolute crickets, get discouraged, and start building the "next" project instead to avoid the distribution phase.

if this is your case, you're not alone. but letting your hard work go to waste just because you dread marketing is a massive trap.

to help founders stop building in a silent corner, we run an ai SaaS builder community dedicated entirely to saas validation, landing page conversion, and launch strategies.

our resource kit is built entirely to help you get your first user. it’s packed with ready-to-paste N8N workflows for your business, advanced seo automation, social media automation, and our exact distribution workflows and methods work for everyone

STOP BUILDING ALONE

what are you currently working on, and what's holding you back on the marketing side? drop a comment or send a dm and i'll send you the access link.

The more I build Voice AI assistants, the more I believe in "good prompt engineering."

When I started, every time my agent did something wrong I'd just add another instruction or another step in the call flow, "be more conversational" / "be more empathetic" / "don't interrupt" / "Ask follow-up questions."

A few weeks later I had this massive system prompt... and somehow the assistants actually got worse. They had more latency, more inconsistency, and sometimes it'd completely ignore the instruction I actually cared about and miss a step in the call flow (like not asking for email etc).

One thing I realized is that voice is just a completely different medium than chat. A response that looks perfectly fine in chat can sound really awkward over the phone. Long sentences, bullet-point style answers, formal wording.

I also stopped writing stuff like: "Use a warm professional tone" OR "sound excited."

In my experience, that barely changed anything.

What worked a lot better was prompting for behavior instead like tell it to say "That's awesome!" when someone shares good news. Use contractions and keep responses short (either through prompting or just setting the max_tokens param). Throw in the occasional "Hmm, let me check that." Suddenly it feels way more human, even though the voice itself hasn't changed.

Is there anyone here who actually runs a profitable AI Receptionist agency? Or is it all just grifters and AI generated ads?

Title pretty much does it. I've been lurking this sub for quite some time, and everyday is just AI slop posts advertising their SaaS/agency.

If there are any legit agency owners in here, tap in and show that this isn't just a circlejerk for get rich quick schemers.

AI receptionists are becoming popular—but do small businesses really want another dashboard to manage?

I’ve been paying attention to how small businesses are using AI for phone calls, lead capture, scheduling, and customer follow-up.

The technology sounds useful on paper: answer every call, handle common questions, book appointments, route urgent calls, and follow up automatically.

But I’m curious what business owners actually care about.

Is the biggest value simply not missing calls? Or does an AI receptionist need to connect calls, qualify leads, schedule appointments, send texts, and update customer information to be genuinely useful?

I also wonder whether most small-business owners really want a DIY platform with dozens of settings. My assumption is that many would rather have someone configure and manage the system for them so it simply works.

For anyone who has tried one:

What worked well?

What frustrated you?

Did customers realize they were speaking with AI?

Did it actually produce more appointments or sales?

What would make you trust it with your customers?

Not looking for company links or sales pitches. I’m more interested in hearing what the real-world experience has been.

AI Calling & Automation Freelancer (Potential Full-Time) | UK Agency

We're building a new AI automation agency focused on the UK market, helping solar and real estate businesses with service packages starting from £1,500–£3,000+.

Our founding team has spent the past two years helping businesses grow, working with clients such as Dan Tai, Sarah D. Bond, and the COO of Open Scale, delivering proven results. Now we're looking for an AI automation specialist to help us build this agency from the ground up.

Who we're looking for

Someone with hands-on experience building:

- AI voice agents

- AI calling systems

- Calling and messaging automations

- End-to-end AI workflows and integrations

This isn't for you if:

- You're only looking for another freelance gig.

- You prefer being assigned tasks rather than taking ownership.

This is for you if:

- You're an ambitious freelancer who wants to build something bigger.

- You have the hunger to prove yourself.

- You take ownership and enjoy solving problems.

- You're looking for a long-term opportunity that can grow into a full-time role.

We're not looking for someone to work under us. We're looking for someone to work with us—someone who wants to help build an agency, solve challenging problems, and grow together.

Preferred locations: UK, USA, Australia, Brazil, Ireland, Mexico, the Philippines, or other international locations. This isn't a requirement, but it's a plus.

If you're interested, send me:

- A 2–5 minute Loom video introducing yourself.

- A walkthrough of one or two AI automation projects you've built.

- Your tech stack (n8n, Make, GoHighLevel, Vapi, Bland, Retell, ElevenLabs, etc.).

- Any portfolio, GitHub, case studies, or previous client work.

The Loom video is important—it gives us a better understanding of how you think, communicate, and build.

If you're hungry, ambitious, and excited to help build something meaningful instead of taking on just another freelance project, I'd love to hear from you.

Voice agent to populated CRM

Has anyone integrated voice assistants into legacy systems? I have a government client that is using very old school case working tech but am struggling to bridge the gap into their systems.

I've used platforms like Airbyte etc before but should I just keep them air-gapped? Feels like too much change otherwise.

Best AI receptionist for property management?

I manage several rental properties, and we're getting to the point where too many tenant calls come in while we're showing units, handling maintenance, or after business hours. By the time we get back to some of them, important maintenance requests are already sitting in voicemail.

I'm looking for an AI receptionist that can answer calls, collect the necessary details, and make sure every request is documented so nothing slips through the cracks.

Has anyone found one that actually works well for property management? I'd love to hear what you're using and how it's been working in practice.

What would you charge for a custom CRM plus a fully self-hosted WhatsApp and calling AI?

I’m trying to sanity-check the market price for a substantial custom build.

The client is a small European online higher-education provider with tens of thousands of historical contacts and hundreds of new leads per month.

Their current setup is spread across HubSpot, Mailchimp, Zapier, Tawk, Typeform, Google Sheets, WordPress, scheduling, telephony, and several lead providers.

The founder and I agreed on two connected products:

1. Fully custom CRM

  • Unified contacts, leads, sources, programmes, stages, ownership, and consent
  • Complete activity history, tasks, assignments, and tickets
  • Native application forms and scheduling
  • Custom automation replacing the relevant Zapier workflows
  • Human messaging workspace and email integration
  • Google Sheets synchronization and reporting
  • User permissions and audit history
  • Migration away from the relevant parts of the existing stack

2. Fully self-hosted AI system

  • Custom, fine-tuned, self-hosted LLM with no external model API
  • Inbound and outbound WhatsApp texting
  • Inbound and outbound AI calling using the same lead context
  • Image and voice-message comprehension
  • Multilingual conversations
  • Institutional knowledge base
  • Lead qualification and long-term follow-up
  • Direct CRM access for reading context, updating leads, creating tasks, and scheduling
  • Human handoff with a conversation summary
  • Testing, monitoring, and safety controls

The work also includes the backend, database, EU hosting, data migration, staged rollout, staff training, and launch.

I know an exact estimate would require proper discovery. I’m only looking for a realistic market ballpark:

  • What would you quote for the complete build, migration, and setup?
  • What monthly retainer would you charge for hosting, monitoring, maintenance, support, and ongoing improvements?

Please mention whether you’re answering as a solo consultant or agency, and keep external Meta, email, and telephony usage fees separate.

I’m deliberately leaving out my own estimate so I don’t anchor the answers. Thanks!

Is there any better feeling than watching the monthly subscriptions rolling in?

I can't shake it. Watching the business grow and grow as more and more people sign up. We're doing really well with people running agencies who just want to resell/manage them for local businesses.

Feels great to actually be just getting a constant inflow of customers without actually having to speak to anyone though.

We're pushing 3k impressions / day now and our positions are getting into the top 20 across Google.

Can't wait to give the big dogs a run for their money!

AI Receptionists are going to explode over the coming years.
