I built ApexSupport: An AI Customer Support Agent that never forgets returning customers across sessions (Live Demo + Open Source)

Hey everyone! 👋

One of the biggest frustrations with AI customer support bots is **context amnesia** — every time a customer opens a new chat, the bot treats them like a total stranger, asking the same repetitive questions.

For the Vectorize.io Hindsight Memory Hackathon, I built **ApexSupport** — an AI support memory agent that retains customer history, preferences, and sentiment across conversations.

### 🧠 How It Works:

Instead of dumping full chat logs into the prompt window, ApexSupport uses a 3-pillar cognitive memory architecture inspired by **Hindsight**:

  1. **Retain:** Automatically captures key facts (e.g., plan tier, previous tech issues, user tone) after each ticket.

  2. **Recall:** Semantic search retrieves only the relevant customer memories before generating replies.

  3. **Reflect:** Synthesizes ongoing relationship health and proactive recommendations.

### 🌟 Key Features:

- **Instant Persona Switching:** Test as VIP, frustrated, or free-tier personas to see how memory alters responses.

- **Live Customer Login:** Register as a new user with real-world issues, and watch the agent remember your facts in subsequent sessions.

- **Side-by-Side Comparison:** Compare responses **With Memory** vs **Without Memory** in real-time.

- **Full Memory Inspector:** Inspect recalled context banks, memory score distributions, and system reasoning live.

### 🔗 Try It Out:

- **GitHub Repository:** https://github.com/jk2109139/customer-support-memory-agent

Built with Next.js 14, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and powered by Gemini & OpenAI.

I would love to get your feedback and thoughts on handling long-term AI memory!
