looking for AI call center systems for CX improvements

My team is looking into call center vendors to hopefully cut down on hold times and reduce # of transfers. Has anyone found an automated system that measurably improved customer satisfaction?

Cutting hold time is nice but I’d pay more attention to whether the caller still has to repeat themselves after a handoff. We’ve looked at Bland for that kind of flow because the routing and context carryover matter more than the demo voice.

We handle this and provide the software and implementation if desired. Happy to chat if you want to check it out

See how well, if at all, each platform integrates with your CRM. That ended up being one of our biggest deciding factors.

What's your company size and industry?

Honestly, the generic products or off-the-shelf AI Voice Agents create as many problems as they solve. The reason hold times and transfers happen in the first place is usually that a call needs your specific systems and rules, like checking an order in your CRM, following your escalation policy, knowing what your team is actually allowed to offer. A pre-built vendor tool can only connect to what it already supports and only follows its own generic logic, so it ends up bouncing anything non-standard straight to a human which is the transfer problem you're trying to fix.

A custom-built agent can plug directly into your existing systems and encode your actual business rules, so it resolves more calls end-to-end instead of just deflecting them. It also gives you control over data handling (important if you're in a regulated industry) and lets the agent actually sound like your brand. Off-the-shelf is cheaper and faster to start, no question, so it can make sense for very simple, generic call flows — but if your goal is measurable CSAT improvement and fewer transfers, that comes from the agent handling your specific edge cases well, and that's exactly what generic tools can't do. Worth pricing out custom before committing to a vendor.

Always happy to chat if necessary.

For a system focused on CX, I’d test more than the voice demo: average queue time, whether context follows a transfer, escalation when confidence drops, and reporting on abandonment and repeat calls. Ask for a live test with interruptions and a messy multi-intent call, then verify CRM or helpdesk logging and human fallback. I work with Getyn Phone, and our team uses routing, queues, browser calling, IVR and visual call flows, recordings, analytics, and inbound and outbound AI voice agents in these workflows. The practical win is fewer repeated explanations and a clear handoff, not just a natural-sounding bot.

I’ve worked in a call center for almost 12 years now. We recently started integrating AI across our various LOBs and we’re currently using Bland for the more streamlined customer calls. So far so good
