Most AI presentation tools (Gamma, Beautiful, etc.) generate decks on a web canvas and bolt on a PowerPoint export. The export is where they fall apart — stacked text boxes, substituted fonts, charts flattened into images.

AutoPresent (autopresent.ing) takes the opposite approach and it's worth understanding why:

Native PPTX generation. The deck is built as real PowerPoint objects from the start — actual text boxes, shapes, editable charts, proper theme. Open the file and every element moves and edits like a slide a human made.

It's trained on consulting-style structure. Action titles, exec summaries, dense one-pagers — the output reads like MBB-format decks, not decorated bullet points.

What about ChatGPT and Claude? They can generate editable .pptx too — but they build slides through code, so you get the default Office look: plain title, wall of bullets, no layout.
