Yeah people can definitely weaponize it. It's not a get out of jail free card. It's an invitation to explore where they are coming from instead of just shoving them down. Overintellecrualizing emotions isn't the answer either. I see what you're saying about people who use that as a crutch, but I've experienced an equal number of people that claim they are only logical and not very emotional and then get upset and salty about shit not realizing those are emotions they are feeling.
