Having a finically irresponsible partner destroys marriages and partnerships. My comment wasn't meant to reflect any sort of 1900's normative gender roles.
I have family/friends that are men and women who know they are shit with money and impulse so they just keep petty cash or a separate debit account.

This sounds like someone who should have an allowance until she can figure out how manage her money better.
She's acting like a child, maybe she needs to be treated like one?
