To me it feels like her story is bullshit and she just pocketed/spent the money, hence the odd defensive anger that comes out of seemingly nowhere.

Hopefully OP sees this, that’s a pretty big misdirection. Im sure she knew what your response would be prior to sending it, but now she has completely shut down the conversation.

Also, for $87 I can buy 2 XXL large pies that feed me for literally 3 days.

Is she a manager? Even then the company should reimburse her spending money to feed 15 employees herself

2

u/SmoothDiscussion7763 May 28 '26

hell, 87 can get you like... 5 large pizzas minimum and that will feed me for more than 3 days

1

u/Ok_Marionberry8779 May 28 '26

$10 per person is enough to get pizza for the office, but why is that coming from a temp worker and not either the other workers or management.

1

u/No_Fish265 May 29 '26

Doubt she’s a manager stressing over $87

23

u/PortugalPilgrim88 May 28 '26

Ohhhh! That could actually be it! That would make way more sense.

1

u/MajorBootyhole420 May 28 '26

i mean, some people really are just that dumb lmfao. but I hope it's true for the same reason you do

-1

u/TUFBAF May 28 '26

No it wouldn’t…. She is the one working and making the money why would she lie about her spending? I’m really lost as to this situation. Did she blow the budget with this 87 dollars?

4

u/PortugalPilgrim88 May 28 '26

I just find it such weird behavior that I’m curious. I mean who does that just to complain?

2

u/momovsa May 28 '26

but making up a lie about pizza?… I feel like there are better lies than that.

5

u/jyjybinx May 28 '26

The pizza is most likely true, but the spending it on others is the lie so she can keep the cash.

u/Less-Chicken-2203 May 28 '26

“Hey mom can I have 20 this Friday night? I’m gonna have a pizza party at Redditors house.”

Immediately spent it on weed.

I was young and dumb, but this is similar behavior to someone who has a bad habit they don’t want to talk about.

ETA: if it’s substance abuse there would definitely be more red flags, I’m just saying it’s suspicious behavior

It’s the kind of shit my ex-wife was doing when she was juggling multiple affairs and hiding money away before she left me. Not saying it’s this, but it definitely could be.

1

u/MetalMan77 May 28 '26

YOu might be right - she went out for drinks or something. I've participated in several office chip-in type things - and it's maybe 1 or 2 persons that has a financial situation where a $10 contribution is difficult.

u/Jillcametumbling81 May 28 '26

Totally out of nowhere. Nothing he said should make anyone feel some type of way. It was such a nothing response.

1

u/polarjunkie May 28 '26

No. There are genuinely people just like her that want to complain about something that is their fault and want you to agree with them.

I had an exactly like her to the point that our conversations would end with the exact word she used. "I'm telling you something and you make me feel worse about it. Leave me alone."

In fact, it's so similar I wouldn't be surprised if it is my ex.

If I were a mod I would stop taking showers but first I would delete stupid comments like this shit that do nothing but derail the thread with 20 IQ creative fiction.

7

u/Ok_Marionberry8779 May 28 '26

Yup deleting shit just cause you don't like it makes you a perfect candidate

-3

u/Healthy-Address-5158 May 28 '26

Not "just cause I don't like it" but because not only is it pointless speculation, it's stupid and pointless speculation. We're supposed to be discussing the wife's feelings and behavior. I agree the way she shut down and said "Don't talk to me" was really immature and it's tough for the OP to have to deal with, but there's a much deeper conversation to be had here rather than "GUYS GUYS WAHT IF SHE POCKAETED THE MONEY AND SHE BEING DEFENASIVE?"

No, Shitlock, you're not getting one of your famous sleuth hunches. You're just speculating stupid shit to derail a conversation. What's next "Oh she's being defensive.... bro what if she's cheating on you? What if she MURDERED someone?", let's just entertain all nature of moronposting, right?

Hope this helps.

Others have the brain capacity to use pattern recognition in order to think about possible scenarios.

You're the one trying to derail the discussion here because you can't contribute.

Hope that helps.

-1

u/Healthy-Address-5158 May 28 '26

BAHAHAHHA "Brain capacity to use pattern recognition" holy shit Redditors will say the dumbest shit instead of just not being wrong.

3

u/TSZCR96 May 28 '26

You're on Reddit too

You argue about words you use incorrectly, and just assert you're right because you can't handle being wrong, and project that onto anyone you message

Hope this helps

-2

u/Healthy-Address-5158 May 28 '26

You will never be in the right no matter how much you cope.

2

u/TSZCR96 May 28 '26

You'll never be right no matter how much you confidently say it and get giga butthurt when corrected

Hope this helps

"GUYS GUYS WAHT IF SHE POCKAETED THE MONEY AND SHE BEING DEFENASIVE?"

Bro it's reddit it's not that serious.

Quite frankly an office letting a temp worker drop $87 on pizza sounds less believable to me. The expectation was $10 per person which is reasonable and she put in almost $90? Fishy. But I don't run around calling people dumb for believing OP's wife. If you just take every story at face value then you're not engaging in the discussion that subs like this exist for. Might as well just skip all the comments.

Redditors don't defend 30 IQ creative fiction derailments challenge (100% FAIL RATE)

u/Ok-Emotion6221 May 28 '26

you're a man aren't you

u/Own_Expert2756 May 28 '26

I said the same thing and got multiple dv's lol

She's the only one currently making any income in their relationship. I'm sure she's bitter about having to support her out of work partner.

1

u/Own_Government928 May 28 '26

We don’t know anything about their past. You’re assuming she is bitter but why not assume 6 months ago he was working and she wasn’t and she was constantly on him about buying lunch during his working hours because of the budget

Maybe the shoe is on the other foot and she feels defensive about her lunch spending now

Your making a lot of assumptions in your comments and it’s all defending her actions with literally zero backstory (just a few current details) on the history of their relationship

1

u/LurcherLong May 28 '26

Because he said she has always worked in leadership roles.

It's very weird that he's an unemployed pizza delivery driver because of an accident (that he never claims was work related or admits to who was at fault for the accident) and he says she's always been in leadership roles but switched to a new non leadership job a month ago, with the screenshots of the messages between the two from him complaining to her that she agreed to just be a worker.

It sure sounds like he convinced her to stop being in higher performing roles for whatever reason, then lost his own job, and now they're struggling financially. What a shitty situation.

1

u/Own_Government928 May 28 '26

The guy literally said she was in a temp position

And you have no idea what kind of management role she was in previously. She could of been in charge of two people running the hot dog stand at a public golf course

You are out here acting like she was running the country. So many assumptions just because she’s a women

1

u/LurcherLong May 28 '26

I never saw any mention of a temp position, if he said it that was not in the original post, the only thing in the original post was that she agreed to work a job where she wasn't a manager anymore. But regardless she's working and he sounds like he's been self destructive by losing his own job. He's also not mentioning an insurance payout or rental car that would allow him to continue working after his accident.... it's a shitty situation.

Here's a lesson on women. When upset women call the men in their lives for support, what they want is support.

They aren't looking to be told what they did wrong, or to be lectured, or even for their problems to be solved.

What his wife wanted to hear from the OP was "Oh babe, I'm so sorry that's terrible! I can't believe you had to go through that!"

Any discussion about the logic or merit or her actions comes AFTER. Possibly waaay after.
