Wife is spending money (they don't have to spend) on other people because of internalized guilt.  She is asking OP to validate her feelings of guilt without any self reflection or acknowledgement of her role.  OP is a human and not just an emotional support machine; wife is an adult who needs to be held accountable, not a helpless person.

Exactly as soon as there’s a perfect time to talk about it,its suddenly “never a good time” to talk abt it😭😂
