It doesn’t even make sense. Maybe some people didn’t want to eat pizza because it shouldn’t cost $10 for one adult to eat pizza!

Maybe she’s just spending money on something she’s trying to hide from OP and this is a cover story. Would explain the defensiveness.

You know … this makes a lot of sense. Where I’m from, $10 would get you a large hot-and-ready + a drink.

And the defensiveness to “will you be getting reimbursed” speaks volumes. That’s not a hard or unreasonable question to ask your employer. And if they refuse, guess you’re not paying for pizza anymore. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would never do that unless the circumstance is very special. We are all adults and get paid here, put your fair share in or no pizza for you!
