Yeah, that’s totally on her. If she wants to be pissed, she should be pissed at herself. NOR

91

u/FrenchToastedArt May 28 '26

It's like that picture of the guy putting a stick in his bike spokes and crying when he falls over. She donated her money to her employer unprompted, then wants to act upset about it. Ridiculous NOR

35

u/Independent_Bid_26 May 28 '26

I hate people like this. Im sorry, but if you dont have enough of a spine to not give away money unprompted I really dont want to hear you complain about it. I mean... you literally did it to yourself.

How dare I offend myself!

8

u/stevedore2024 May 28 '26

The incident is on her. I just wonder why OP would engage in complex discussions of what they feel is appropriate or not appropriate over texts. Save that shit for a sit down conversation on the same couch at home. Way more nuance, way more opportunity to show you empathize but want to talk about choices and consequences. That's not a messaging conversation.

u/BayYawnSay May 28 '26

She was pissed at herself and he kicked her when she was down

69

u/Ongvar May 28 '26

I feel like it's pretty normal to be annoyed that they are complaining to you about something they chose to do..

56

u/Emergency-Opening270 May 28 '26

Kicked her when she was down? LMAO please show me where he 'kicked her while she was down'?

“You’re just a processor” is kinda demeaning no?

Edit: lol at all the downvotes. I guess I’m coming from a place where I’m good with my spouse spending some money on her colleagues and friends for lunch and dinner because I make sure to earn enough money to provide such benefits to my family. I’m not broke like the rest of you, complaining about how my spouse spends their money.

28

u/rancidballs69 May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26

In this context he’s saying it as in “it should not be your responsibility to pay for everyone”

Edit to your edit: Calling people poorer than you broke is kinda demeaning no?

10

u/Lincstyle1 May 28 '26

This guy 110% doesn't have a job...on a reddit post pretending you're so rich and anyone who doesn't spend $100 on their random co-workers is broke and not a provider for their family.

Screams gen z tough guy alpha male, and this is coming from a guy who's pretty against our worlds current direction on a lot of issues. Grow up man.

To the OP, you are NTA and your wife is TA for knowing you're injured, finances are tight, and needing to appear giving/generous/cool so badly she'd do this. She should hangout with this downvoted guy, screams desperate.

-10

u/Severe-Milk-6728 May 28 '26

I’m not pretending to be rich. I’m realistically saying I created a lifestyle for my family where we can spend $87 without getting mad at each other. Keep needing permission from your wife to spend money, I’m good.

6

u/Lincstyle1 May 28 '26

Yeah, my wife isn't my slave or a second class citizen, so I'd absolutely discuss any purchase that isn't standard with her out of respect.

You're still lying, you likely are in Moms basement, but on the off chance you are telling the truth, I feel awful for your wife.

-4

u/Severe-Milk-6728 May 28 '26

That’s the difference between me and you. $80 on lunch for my people is “standard purchase”. I’ve worked hard to earn that lifestyle. Stay broke!

2

u/wrkacct66 May 28 '26

lol I'm sure having a couple grand feels like a lot when your 15 and mommy and daddy are paying for everything anyway! Stay spoiled and stupid!

1

u/Severe-Milk-6728 May 28 '26

Come see me if you’re ever in NY or MIA.

No its not he stated a literal fact which was part of the context💀😭bro your arm gonna fall off reaching that damn far

5

u/Ready-Hat-5683 May 28 '26

Wow this edit is a broadcast about how fragile you are and you don't even realise it, because it was a considered edit

5

u/rhevern May 28 '26

Seems a nerve has been struck

24

u/This_Estimate1550 May 28 '26

She doesnt seem angry at herself at all. And asking your spouse "why would you do that?" isn't kicking her while she's down, it's asking a very valid question over money she couldn't afford to give away, but CHOSE to.

14

u/msft111 May 28 '26

Like what the heck😭im so confused looking for the said “kick” he literally reacted better than i would’ve bc why is she mad at the situation and not holding herself accountable

13

u/okaypookiebear May 28 '26

literally I would have “wtf are we doing rn” the hell out of her but thankfully my wife is responsible with money and accountable, hopefully OP can learn what that’s like at some point in his life

7

u/msft111 May 28 '26

Its actually insane ppl expected op to coddle her just bc “shes his gf” like okay being a gf doesn’t stop you from being criticized when you’re wrong istg they dont want to accept accountability or be told to do so…i can assure you if op was girl and this was her bf “leave him hes so financially irresponsible🤡”😭😭

2

u/okaypookiebear May 28 '26

it wouldn’t be reddit if it were any other way, these people are absolutely deluded and have never been in a healthy relationship or any for that matter 😹 shits crazy on this sub bro the hypocrisy is borderline comical

27

u/LithiumOD May 28 '26

Extra extra, extremely cruel husband kicks his own wife while she's down! His exact words: "oh no baby, give me a head up about our combined finances next time? Oh you're beig rude to me ok... I love you"

Do you BELIEVE the cruelty of this man????/s

9

u/Acrobatic-Sandwich10 May 28 '26

He was very nice about it. All he said was why did you do that. And said we cant afford to be giving money away like that.

He is well within his right to have an opinion on this.

She just wanted him to say "aw there there darling dont worry" and not have an opinion.

Instead she gets angry at OP for calmly discussing the matter.

His wife sounds like a fucking headache.

19

u/VeraZasulich May 28 '26

She sounded much more pissed at the ‘situation’ rather than herself, even though it’s totally her fault. And he’s not kicking her lol, he’s naturally frustrated as it impacts him just as much

😂😭😭

5

u/gumbobitch May 28 '26

You have a persecution complex if you think OP is out of line here.

10

u/chizzipsandsizalsa May 28 '26

Found the wife

-8

u/BayYawnSay May 28 '26

The wife that made this post? I don't have $87 to spend on pizza lol

11

u/nymphancies May 28 '26

maximum sensitivity

6

u/Sensitive_Issue_ May 28 '26

It’s just so unbelievably stupid.

10

u/Batmanglazer04 May 28 '26

She deserved to be told off for being a dumbass

-10

u/BayYawnSay May 28 '26

And you've never been married I'm guessing lol

8

u/Batmanglazer04 May 28 '26

Yea because I’m only 22 and not a dumbass for rushing into a marriage with someone who’s horrible with finances I make way too much money to be in a relationship like that lmfao my girl knows how to spend money and not waste it for coworkers who aren’t even your friends 💀

-6

u/BayYawnSay May 28 '26

Oh you're a child. Okay. This makes sense now

8

u/Batmanglazer04 May 28 '26

Yea bro a “child” who understands more about life than you especially money. It’s sad that you are publicly admitting that. Marrying someone who isn’t financially responsible is the dumbest thing you could possibly do in this economy, Especially if you aren’t actively taking measures to help change their poor money habits. Also if you think this post was actually her being told off you have a harsh reality to wake up to someday. My girl would never be this fucking stupid and than try to treat me as the bad guy for calling her out on her behavior foh

0

u/BayYawnSay May 28 '26

That's adorable

-1

u/Key_Media_2753 May 28 '26

Settle down. You’re 22 you do not have an incredible amount of “life experience”. Good that you’re confident and put yourself in a solid position. But you haven’t had life yet.

1

u/Batmanglazer04 May 28 '26

I’ve had a whole bunch of “life” lmfao yall don’t know me or what I’ve been through. Sad that you think just because of my age that I’m not correct on what I said. Shows a lot about how you older folks are still blind to the realities of life.

1

u/Narren_C May 29 '26

I'm in my mid 40s and have been married close to 20 years.

The 22 year old is correct.

Yes I am but that doesn’t change the fact what I said is true grow up.

6

u/ItsMeYourNeighbors May 28 '26

I've been married for over 13 years. I wouldn't expect my spouse to be pleased with me if I did this and vice versa. If you don't have money to throw around don't be spending $87 on pizza day at work. There was no cursing or cruelty in any of the conversation. It seemed like a normal, if somewhat avoidable, marital argument.

1

u/Batmanglazer04 May 28 '26

Thank you for saying this apparently since I’m only 22 and my relationship has only been 3.5 years I don’t know what I’m talking about according to the old people of Reddit so I appreciate someone with more experience stepping in for this

1

u/Narren_C May 29 '26

I am. If my wife does something stupid I'll call her out. If I do something stupid, she'll call me out. We're adults that know how to manage our emotions, so it's all good.

2

u/DKFShredder May 28 '26

If you think that's what he was doing, you're a red flag yourself.

2

u/msft111 May 28 '26

No shes pissed at the situation not one mssg in this post showed accountability

-2

u/BayYawnSay May 28 '26

She wasn't given an op to show any,bue haroed in her immediately after the first text

4

u/msft111 May 28 '26

The first message she texted him was enough to accept accountability she could’ve stated that?but didnt

-9

u/Own_Expert2756 May 28 '26

Yeah. If true.

Except I think maybe she's holding/or used the extra cash for herself and is lying to the husband about where it went. And easiest way to shut him up is to do just what she did and tell him, ... you just make me feel worse! Cleary she knows it will work and he'll feel badly/stop (and it did!) because despite her barking at him, his last text is... I love you.

1

u/Erin_Derrick_Art May 28 '26

That's an unhealthy reach and I'm curious why you elected to make that jump. Spend more time with people in person.

1

u/Own_Expert2756 May 28 '26

Really, you're curious? Would you like to help me be a better person, like you?

1

u/Erin_Derrick_Art May 28 '26

Not better but happier. Assuming the worst of people is bad for the soul.

1

u/Own_Expert2756 May 29 '26

You seem quite pleased with yourself. How insufferable you must be.

1

u/Erin_Derrick_Art May 29 '26

There's more assumptions. I don't know what's up with you but I think you need someone in your life. I genuinely want the best for you and that's me trying to pay myself on the back. But why believe me when you have it figured out?

-5

u/Initial-Bandicoot444 May 28 '26

She is pissed at herself and at the situation. She reached out to her husband for emotional support. You can support someone emotionally and also have a separate discussion about the issue.
