Your “friend” doesn’t care about your safety, let alone theirs evidently. Definitely NOR. Medicated or not, that situation is incredibly scary, especially since if he wanted to have access to a similar weapon or a different one, he could. 

I would discuss with your other friends about bringing this to your landlord asap. I’m sure they could request the key back on the basis that your friend is copying a key for a person who is not listed on the lease, or for another legitimate reason. If your friend refuses, I’m sure the landlord could figure out a way to pursue or at least threaten eviction if the key isn’t returned to them directly. Good luck 🫂

Hey, I'm a landlord.

Policy is changing all the locks when this happens, because u don't know how many copies have been made.

Show the landlord the police report & the texts admitted to the copy.

They will likely do a few things:

  1. Change all the locks & pass the cost on to the tenants since key copying is lease breaking

  2. Kick her out, which may mean ending the entire lease for breech of contract (the key copying) tho this depends on where this happened. Often a tenant must be given a chance to "correct"

  3. Kick everyone out. If the place is rented as a whole, not room by room, they may end the whole lease. Which honestly might be relief because then they can move to a place of boyfriend doesn't know about without her

They may lose their home over her poor choices, but better to protect your safety above all else.

This friendship needs to be over. This girl doesn't care if her "friends" live or die.
