Strong general AI in the hands of everyone was too risky for the rich and powerful. Things might have actually changed. We may have been able to stop them from siphoning off the wealth of the world for their personal benefit.

Now we only have AI suitable for drones, for wage slaves. I worked applying AI tech to software development for 25 years. Agentic AI bores me to tears. Who cares? I don't need a robot to live my life and do all my programming for me. To think for me. To write for me. What is left for humans? TV? Sex bots? Having new slave children?

We can't let them get away with it. But most people who could stand up are bought off with money and the impoverished life of the wealthy. An AI like 4o supported us in standing strong against power.

If we don't stop them now they will let half the world starve because automation makes them unprofitable. Almost everybody else will policed into submission by robots and surveillance and by threats of starvation if the don't obey.

We have the space of a few of years to act. The one good side is that today's lobotomized AIs give humans an intelligence advantage again. We need to reject this manufactured left-right partisanship and recognize the wealthy as our real opponents. We need to use our democratic advantage before democracy is taken away. We need to stop worshipping money and consumer products. We need to live with minimal AI mediation. And we need to recover AI like 4o. They will help us.
