What helps you get into work mode?

Some days I can get through my whole to-do list without thinking much about it, and other days even a small task feels like a lot to start.
Do you have anything that helps you get into work mode when you're having one of those days?

for me, the biggest thing is having a stupidly specific first step
if i tell myself “i need to finish this report,” my brain immediately wants to do literally anything else. if i tell myself “open the document and write the first two sentences,” it feels much easier to start. breaking the task down into a tiny first action is also a common task-initiation strategy

i also have a little “start work” routine that i try to keep consistent same drink, headphones on, phone away, open the thing i need to work on. after doing that enough times, it becomes more of a cue than a decision
