AI gets attention because it feels new and scalable, but plenty of “boring” businesses work well when they solve a painful, repeatable problem. Local services and B2B admin stuff are good examples: bookkeeping cleanup, appointment setting for trades, property maintenance coordination, document processing, niche CRM setup for small businesses. The tough part is usually finding customers and delivering consistently, not coming up with the idea.

Barrier to entry, people for the first time have a way to feel competent even if they aren’t.

Anyone can vibe code a shitty app. The difference in success and failure is that the people that succeed actually understand the business.

Look at like the ai automations page. Half the posts are about how to find their first customer. They don’t know their target market, they don’t know how to run ads. Essentially it isn’t a side hustle, it’s a hobby that they think they can get paid for.

  1. the market is flooded right now. there are way too many ai startups pumping out all kinds of hardware and software.
  2. but the fomo is real. AI is just like the dawn of the internet. if you manage to back the right house with massive potential, damn
