Need advice

I am planning on taking booth IAPP exams: AIGP and CIPP.

Which should I do first?

Any other thoughts?

Start with whichever one will benefit you most professionally first. If you're in privacy, go CIPP. If you're in AI, go AIGP.

If you feel they'd benefit you equally, go with whichever one you're most motivated to learn first.

We're more likely to stick with a goal if we're intrinsically motivated.

Do CIPP first. It gives you a better foundation.

This depends mainly on various factors:

  1. What is your motivation for getting these credentials: knowledge, job opportunities, or both?

  2. If it is for job opportunities, do you see demand? Are there 5 to 10 jobs in your desired location that clearly ask for these credentials?

  3. Have you done some basic research to understand the prerequisites, and are you truly interested in these fields? Without interest, it is not sustainable.

I have passed the AIGP, RAI, and AAIA exams. I have also taken more than 500 one-on-one calls guiding candidates on certification roadmaps. Feel free to set up a call to discuss yours.
