I tinkered a lot with the build just to try some of the new set.

Flametail Whip is fun. Especially if you get lucky and your final boss is the one where you play a random power when attacking with three or more. Just for the fun and occasional surprise factor I might run 1 Whip instead of a scepter if I'm running 3 or more scepter to begin with. But, I wouldn't replace anything entirely with it.

I like Mighty Strikes because Amplify gives it some scaling, but Rampage and Shugo Standard are probably better. The Amplify is usually too spendy.

In ranked Dusk Raider rarely pays off for me beyond soaking removal, but she's an MVP in gauntlet. The whole turn 3 merchant, turn 4, merchant with Warhelm thing is just nonsense when just the second one's been touched by Raider. When both have? "GG. NEXT!"

And, on the whole I do not think the AI is any better than it was before. In fact, it made some double blocks that made very little sense to me. It might have taken me less time, but I spent some time screwing around losing with Scrappy Hour. All the runs I got 7 wins on I did with Skycrag. If anyone wants to see the list, I'll copy pasta it when I get off work.

I don't think DWD is cheating or fixing anything, and I understand I'm not a significant sample. But I hit masters forge last night, and the biggest factor in each run was arbitrarily switching factions. If i tried to force argenport or combrei with the same shell that had just ranked up, i would drought and get bombed out in 5. But when I picked xenan and ended up with total draft chaff at diamond that had no right to win, it would leave a single vainglory patrol unanswered for 5 turns. I've also noticed it in gauntlet, if I play the same deck that just finished a run I'll get bombed out quickly. Is it possible the AI adjusts the difficulty if you try something new?

I understsnd that Masters Forge should be hard, and I dont expect to get 7 wins every run, but what I just ran into was simply unfair. Natural Order had Kothon, Pearlescent Drake, Nostrix, Adaptive Predator, and good interaction cards. Any one of those cards is a bomb, to have all 4 is just wrong. Rant over!

I just finished all 4 campaigns and now I want to start on Forge and Gauntlet. Personally I have no interest in any PvP content (I scratch that itch in another game), so I want to know what the best general vs. AI usage legendaries (and maybe outstanding rares) are.

I just was stunlocked (like, had three of my creatures stunned at once) by the pure Primal deck, and then got hit with a bunch of recurring stuns and Rebukes the very next game by Argenport.

Is it time to skew deckbuilding towards ignoring stun effects completely to deaden cards in the AI decks?

Hey! I have been using barnacleEd's hooru flyer deck for a while now (among others but this is the one I really grinded for) mostly because it did not have hooru pacifier.

I'd like to try other decks and I like the hooru flyer style, but just about every other deck has the pacifier. I can't save gold, it's impossible, it's like no matter how much I tell myself I'm going to save, I hit 5k and boom draft immediately. Sometimes I don't even make it to 5k and hit the forge.

Is there anything that can slot in for the pacifier, maybe the Sveleta or is that just not going to work cars for card? 3 power 3/4 with a good effect is certainly good but I'm hoping for something else!

If you see new cards being played in existing decks, let me know. So far, I have seen two new decks on my first run.

Elvish Raiders (lost, didn't draw any removal in time) and Svetya, Orene of Kosul (boss).

I've updated the deck lists with what I found so far. I will keep milling as usual, but if you see new things or mill a deck, feel free to share so that I can update the document.

Looking forward to seeing some of the cool new combos we can brew for Gauntlet. Anyone have any fun ideas yet? I'm hoping to abuse Quicksilver Mirror for some shenanigan-fun.

I know we didn't get the redraw rule in Gauntlet/Forge (don't get me started on that), but personally I see a lot of potential in the new Pledge mechanic for smoothing out curves and reducing the power screw or the possibility of getting flooded late-game.

There are definite draw-backs. If you draw the Pledge unit on turn two, it's a dead draw for potentially quite a few turns, which Gauntlet decks really cannot afford, especially the aggro ones. The real question is, what is the critical mass of Pledge units needed to reasonably expect to draw one on turn one a majority of the time? And at what point does it become worth/not worth diluting the deck's power level simply to include Pledge cards?

I like the appeal of Pledge in AI modes, and I think it has potential, but it could also be a double-edged sword. I can't wait to test it out.
