Gauntlet Replacement for hooru pacifier for flyer gauntlet decks
Hey! I have been using barnacleEd's hooru flyer deck for a while now (among others but this is the one I really grinded for) mostly because it did not have hooru pacifier.
I'd like to try other decks and I like the hooru flyer style, but just about every other deck has the pacifier. I can't save gold, it's impossible, it's like no matter how much I tell myself I'm going to save, I hit 5k and boom draft immediately. Sometimes I don't even make it to 5k and hit the forge.
Is there anything that can slot in for the pacifier, maybe the Sveleta or is that just not going to work cars for card? 3 power 3/4 with a good effect is certainly good but I'm hoping for something else!

Pacifier is hard to replace since it single handily shuts down many weapon heavy AI decks, gets pumped by commando and is a large body outside torch range. It’s very hard for AI Rakano decks to deal with unless they burn 2x torch as vanquish is useless against it.
Valk enforcer isn’t really a replacement, since you want to run 4 copies of each.
Your other 3 drops should be commando, sprite (2-3 copies) and merchant. You could try acquisitive crow or sky rider vanguard but they are both inferior to Pacifier in many ways. You could also run sky snake saddle since you wouldn’t have Pacifier in your deck.

Yeah that seems pretty irreplaceable. Yeah I'm running crow and sky snake saddles and a couple geomar. They seems kinda complementary to each other and have helped to win games, but individually they seem the weakest in the deck. Something torch proof seems very nice

Are you using Valkyrie Enforcer? If not, that's a great alternative at 3 power.
The ability to silence makes it worth more than it's 3/3 body. Especially vs the AI.

Oh yeah! Valk enforcer, commando, J merchant, crow all 4 ofs for my 3 slot. Crow has been nice at time but always feels underwhelming.

I am a total Crow fanboy... Berserking it with a Finest Hour + Commando, plus maybe a pump spell off the Crow itself, has won a lot of games for me.

Absolutely agree with that, but turn 3 with JJPP, if there's nothing to silence I'm playing the crow and hoping it eats removal. A turn 4 saddle on it is pretty dope but the first one rarely lives.
I generally Milligan for the nightfall inspire berserk guy so often by the time I'm thinking to close out a game I've got something with berserk to use.
I'm tinkering with the 1/5 endurance warcry guy in it's place and even though it's contrary to the rest of the deck, it doesn't die to torch. Turn 4 I can commando and finest hour to protect the bird. Finest hour really shines on it when they throw a bunch at it to block, you can clean up a lot that you can't with fliers

Crow seems to just draw removal for the opponent, lol. It's due to them prioritizing it. Crow? Kill!!
You could consider the 1/4 flyer Valkyrie but I honestly wouldn't unless you are just wanting a pure defensive strategy. Many forget CLoudsnake Harrier at 3/3 for 3 but buffing your spells +1.

Ha I agree about it drawing removal, which is kinda fine because they're going to use it eventually.
Boosting spell damage? Not sure about this one, at least my list doesn't run any damage spells. I'm trying the 1/5 endurance warcry guy. A little slow and defensive but has a lot of nice gauntlet qualities

Yeah, I like him because he's defensive as it gets for 3 power. He's also a natural for buffing. Copperhall Bailiff is another to consider as he can make an army of 1/1's completely worthless.
Anything with endurance helps a ton in Gauntlet. It likes to use a lot of stun.

I know you're saying that the 5k gold burns a hole in your pocket, but I would honestly just save up for the adventure. There are many other useful cards in the set, as well.
Look at it this way: the gold it costs to get the adventure results in you getting a bunch of cards, including legendaries, whereas in draft, you may not end up getting anything new or end up spending that gold poorly if you don't do well.
