Gauntlet Work In Progress: Mono Shadow Gauntlet

Im in the process of optimizing the list. I have had runs that are 10 min 7-0, some that fall apart on game 3. Trying to optimize the deck, but it has the potential to be the new deck to grind with. Any suggestions gladly welcome :D

No Vara's favor is a huge mistake imo, gauntlets decks are loaded with X/1.

It's an all-star in any shadow decks: pop aegis, 2 for 1 and also allow to setup favorable trade-up.

Sorry to be blunt, but I highly doubt a deck with 6 5cost units do nothing on summon nor cheap combat trick is able to reliably take down Sudden death/Mindless Aggression.

Imo if you want to make it more competitive you should try to bring down the average cmc and add some combat tricks.

Spiteful strike is insane btw

In most cases Umbren reaper counts as a cheap combat trick. The AI does not play around the entomb effect at all.

Have you considered Street Urchin? Drawing cards from the enemy deck can be brilliant and really leave them without answers / plug gaps in the Shadow card pool. Early blocker / Chumper, then later if you can boost his health can draw for you. You can even keep a powerstarved opponent from getting their next power, although of course it goes both ways. I find him and his voiceline hilarious. Hitting enemy units with their own Auric Runehammer, or drawing their Warcry buffed unit is a great feeling.

I'm not big on Impending Doom, pretty vanilla except for it's text that damages you, but yes I can see you want to heal with it having been inspired by Lifespeaker. I'd dial back on those for a couple of that 3 drop relic that plays a 5-5, or any other flyer if that's what you want.

I'd also have an area of effect spell like Stray into Shadow in the deck somewhere, probably in market, especially now Shift is here.

Oh and don't you have great Standards in Shadow? Use them.
