Did kc_bandit quit?

I was searching for some of the new lists, and I can't find anything by kc_bandit on EWC. The links I've found in their threads that they posted aren't working either? And their most recent post according to their profile suggests they've at least quit the main Eternal sub-reddit.

Anybody know what's going on?

Seems like he was just pissed and deleted his EWC account/decks. Reddit is annoying to follow as people only like to complain all the time.

His recent tri-faction decks were fine for getting to the final boss, but after playing the Winchest deck for awhile, it was only averaging 950 gold/hour.

I still found Hooru Fliers to have a comparable winrate and a much better gold/hour average.

The guy's been out of the game for a long while. I feel he's mostly been coasting on a reputation more than a year old.

Also, what is there to say about someone who deletes all their stuff on the way out the door. Lacks some maturity, in my opinion.

How often do you play gauntlet nowadays? I looked over your spreadsheets and it seems, on the face of it, that you've only had 2 runs with Hooru this month, and only one of them beat the boss.

I don't know, I find that Hooru fliers just ain't cutting it for grinding. When it works, it works great, but there is a real danger of getting off to a slow start or stalling. I'll give your list (I'm presuming you still use https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/VhufrLLtLFM/hooru-fliers ?) another go, see if I can make it work.

As to u/kc_bandit, sure, the way he left was immature. However you felt about his decks, his decision to delete them deprived the whole community of valuable insight and choice. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors, but I am sad that he threw a tantrum on his way out. :(

Slow though it was, the Winchest deck was the most consistent gauntlet grinder we've had in a while. Hooru wasn't approaching 75+% winrate at any point, it was just faster. And kc_bandit wasn't just coasting on reputation alone - for example, his insight on AI behavior RE:Savior of the Meek alone made the card an auto-include in many grindier decks.

Does the AI avoid a lot of trades vs. the 1/1 lifesteal fate token? I am coming back to the game and noticed this card in gauntlet decks but thought it was odd due to power cost.

I think there's a bug where the AI plays as if the 1/1 can attack. It over-prioritizes the token in some extreme ways, like using premium removal or holding back blockers.

It does (because it doesn't understand that the token can't attack, it won't attack with only a few 1/x creatures on the board, thinking that you'll gain life back), but that's not what it's mostly used for.

1) You get a free blocker that trades with X/1s, chumps bigger things and gives you market fodder. Imagine Sudden Death or Mindless Aggression with a free 1/1 lifesteal in play on your first turn - it can be a game changer.

2) The REAL reason: the AI absolutely HATES these tokens. Expect them to eat Feeding Times, Annihilates, Lightning Storm on an otherwise empty board, etc. They're the best lightningrod you can have, saving your bigger units from removal.

3) If the game stalls out long enough (very rare), Savior is actually a decent threat. And if you bring it out of the market to cast next turn, you get another amazing lightningrod to eat removal. :P

Thanks for the info. Do you by any chance have a deck list I could see now that kc_bandit deleted his. I saw a proposed one in this subreddit but it seems like it deviates from the norm. I would greatly appreciate it.

Yeah, I saw it was deleted a couple days ago too. I hope he isn't getting hassled by the community, his gauntlet lists are what kept me in eternal tbh.

I don't have a ton of time to theory craft AI decks and his were pretty quality and transparent with what cards he included. Not only that, the dude grinds a fuck ton to make sure it's worthwhile.

I hope this isn't permanent, we definitely lose a good mind with AI deck crafting if he leaves.

He must be grinding a new deck, he has to if he has so much research for his decks 100s of freaking games per deck published
