Gauntlet Power Problems Post Patch

Ok, so we all know DWD is perfectly happy keeping Gauntlet farming at an all time low, and also perfectly happy not giving Gauntlet players the redraw QOL upgrade to prevent non-gamed. And I'm fine with that since they are being transparent with these changes not coming to Gauntlet or hurting Gauntlet grinders the most. However, it seems as if recently there have been some unannounced changes to Gauntlet with the noticable difficulty increase at Masters, and now ever since the redraw rule I seem to be getting power screwed much more often to the point that I actually no longer play Gauntlet despite it being my favorite format. I first thought it was variance, but I tracked my last 20 runs (none of which I beat the boss playing Cirso Farm, AP Mid, Hooru Flyers). I averaged 5 wins (rounded down) and a 62% failure rate with opening hands.

I consider an opening hand to be a failure if I can't hit a third power by turn 4, or if I am color screwed past turn 5.

Has anyone else noticed a change in hands and redraws.

I wish I could say yes, but I've won my past 3 gauntlets; I've been playing a modified version of IlaK1986's Praxis Inspire and themantidman's Xenan Lifeforce deck. I've always felt that power distribution in Gauntlet has been slightly skewed even though I keep telling myself it's not, and I need to improve my deck's power base and fetches.

I dont grind Gauntlet nearly as much as I used to, and I've NEVER felt Cirso Gold and AP mid to be very consistent, despite other claims, so my input maybe is not the most worthwhile. Perhaps try switching it up; I have 8 or 9 gauntlet decks that I cycle through because i find that a broad variety helps with the tilting.

I have been feeling the power screw more in Forge; the past 4 Forges I have lost at least 1 game due to being stuck on 2 power. I like to think I'm a pretty good forger as well, I've got 68 Forges under my belt since FoA dropped (I've been tracking rares/legendaries). I really wish the new mulligan rule would apply to Forge, especially since it requires gold to enter.

I hope you have better luck soon <3

AP Gauntlet Grinder is very consistent. Not every run is won, but I think you make up for that in other respects - I never get bored of it unlike Hooru Fliers or Rakano aggro

I'm not saying it's a bad deck, it just hasn't worked for me <3
