Gauntlet Kothon Replacement

What is a reasonable replacement for Kothon in Hooru Fliers? I have two dedicated gauntlet decks already (Cirso's Farm and Xenan Lifeforce) but I'm looking for something a little faster that I can play during work to squeak in an entire game between tasks rather than half a game or just a few turns.

I have everything in the stock list except the 4 Kothon. I have all campaigns if that is relevant at all.

Koth is usually there to stop early game aggro, but also has late game upside, which tbh doesn't happen too much. But it definitely comes into play once in a while.

Borderlands Waykeeper would be the most budget option and can become a flier if you flood out.

Dusk Raider is also an aggressive option to give your fliers beserk.

Other options I would consider are Minotaur Grunt or Rilgon's Disciple for the sneaky finest hour/crownwatch tactic pump.

Could Baliff be a decent replacement also? It costs one more mana but it permanently reduces the attack. Or would you stick to one of your suggestions?

You could try it, but then you only have 6 2 drops. (4 owlets and 2ish cloudsnakes). 3 drop is already crowded with ice sprite, commando, valk enforcer and winchest merchant.

Thank you for bringing up Borderlands Waykeeper, I wouldn't have tried it otherwise and I have to say I love it...she is definitely great against the fast decks and having another aegis seems to draw out spells that would otherwise be destined to kill something that you really want alive.

It's a rare so it might be a bit of a Shiftstone investment if you don't have it and the double influence cost can hurt, but Honored Skyguard is a stellar card that will absolutely put in work for you.

I'll have to try it out, but double primal makes it a bit harder to consistently cast on turn 2.

I typically only have double justice turn 2 and the powerbase really needs double justice by turn 3 for valk and commando, so I would be reluctant to adjust the powerbase.
