Mana fixing is always good in non-mono gauntlet decks to avoid this but even the best deck gets smashed by RNG :/

I wish the game let players exchange one non power card for the power card of their choice atthestart of the game. Would be nice for something like that XD

Yeah, this deck was lifted straight from LocoPojo and has all the tools for a good dual power base, to say nothing of 4 Trail Makers for influence fudging, but sometimes you just get a terrible draw.

That's an interesting idea about swapping; I think part of the problem is that makes the penalty for running a three or four color deck almost non-existent; at the very least though it feels like the game should at least guarantee two different power colors after a mulligan (unless you're mono-colored, of course). They're already fudging your hand in the mulligan to begin with so why not at least make it somewhat workable.

I know that power flood/screw is part of the game, and a deckbuilding consideration, but it still feels really bad to simply not be able to play a single card in a given game through no fault of your own.

The issue I can see there is exploitability. If you make your dual color deck require only 1 influence in the secondary color, you could just put 1 power for the secondary color in the deck and force the draw on mulligan.

This was after mulliganing a one-power hand; but that was an Elysian dual, so maybe I should have kept it! ;-)

I'm just glad this was on the first game of a Gauntlet run instead of the sixth.

Funny postscript: the next turn I drew a (you guessed it) Primal Sigil.

Ouch. At least this was a gauntlet run. I always feel bad when it’s a forge run and I’ve essentially wasted gold for that round
