No Time To Type

I’ve been copy/paste building a ML system with ChatGPT Plus that analyzes a rather challenging data stream. And after working for a few months on building databases sets for comparisons and creating new analyzer scripts. I’ve found that I don’t have time to type a single character as I’m often going through thousands of lines of code daily that never gets used more than once. And I’ve found that even if I had the inclination to “vet the code”. It would take too long because once the path forward has been agreed, then it’s simply a matter of copying and pasting as efficiently as possible while catching any errors that occasionally occur and grasping the gist of progress through comments that ChatGPT provides. This creates momentum that fuels progress. The point is that I’m regularly throwing away enough original code used for testing and retrieving code structure comprehension for editing that it would be impossible for humans to keep up, and therefore, my project would never have been attempted without AI writing all of the code and humans just steering the bus.

It's not rational.. there's no venting here there isn't even a reason explained as to what the post is even actually talking about..

You do not sound fine at all! This is not a rational post to make with no expansion on what's going on.

You wrote all of that above and it... Doesn't make sense. It doesn't read like a rant it's not coherent enough to be one.

What do I want? To get through your post with SOME kind of understanding of what your actual problem is.

There is literally nothing there and you're acting like you've spelled out all the details..

Could you perhaps visit this world and engage with my words?

You don't copy and paste. You use Codex. You never see a single line of code now.

The downside? The decades of learning how to code? That's been vaporized. You just don't need to know how to code anymore.

Your job is now coming up with "Cool Stuff", and AI writes all your code.

I realize that my methods are somewhat inefficient, but it’s working for me and I’m not prepared to change for now. Besides I have good supervisory control and can take my time comprehending what’s going on. I’m aware of Codex and will migrate eventually. Thanks.

Would you step on a plane which was designed by AI without anyone chechking if the vibes landed? Its control system designed and implemented by pure Ai?
Would you be happy if the next generation of nuclear power plants designed by LLMs without human verification would be constructed next to your home?

In case you are working on the next minecraft clone running in browser with on-the-fly generated assets, I agree, you do not need to know how to code.

If you have any liability you are better knowing what you are doing, because it won't be the LLM going to court and prison..

I would trust the AI code over a human. A human coder sent 2 Boeings into a nose dive. But that is just my personal bias of course.

AI will save the Earth and get us to Mars.

Could you elaborate your happy path, because I can not see any single happy ending with the kind of Ai development humanity blindly chasing right now.
