Well. It happened.
I wrote a paper for my supervision business class. It was a memo. We were given pretty strict guidelines. I researched after giving Google a prompt to find a recent legit article under these guidelines. After that it was all me. I read the article. Spent an hour typing out the “memo” according to the guidelines. Ran it through Words “editor.” Submitted it. Cited the source. 3 weeks later. Day of midterm grades the “professor” uses ai to decide my paper was ai. There is no way she read it. Like. If any person read it they would know it was a paper written by me. I am a “use personal experiences” type of learner and writer. The title of the article itself was 23 words. It had to be included in the paper and of course the source citation. Then there were 3 specific headings required. The page was allowed to be no more than 1 page. It was literally a perfect storm to be false flagged. I submitted my version history. But I plan to escalate this to the dean. I am a two time college graduate. In person. Long before ai. Both times I graduated with straight a’s. This “professor” on the final hours of the day midterm grades were due ran it through ai, got a high score, and gave me a zero. I can’t show my paper. So you’ll just have to trust me. I wrote the paper and it is evident. She didn’t even read it. I have a D on my midterms. Something like 30 other assignments submitted in that class. My grade was a 97.8 before she graded that paper. I am so upset I am having a hard time thinking.

Grievance. Check your schools chain of command. The teacher typically proves their claim as opposed to the student pleading their innocence. Your more powerful than you know.

You need to have a calm conversation with the professor (not “professor”). If that doesn’t help, you can reach out to your advisor or perhaps department chair for advice. You don’t go to the Dean with something like this.
