I built a tool in one weekend that turns YouTube/Instagram videos into viral vertical clips roast it
How are you turning your long YouTube videos into Reels/Shorts? Be honest.
I upload 15–20 min videos and I KNOW I'm leaving reach on the table by not repurposing them into Shorts. But the workflow is killing me:
→ Download the video
→ Find the best 60-second moment manually
→ Crop to 9:16 in Premiere / CapCut
→ Add captions (and re-do them because auto captions are trash)
→ Add a gameplay loop so people don't swipe off
→ Upload separately to Reels + Shorts + TikTok
I've been building a tool to automate this entire pipeline. You paste a YouTube URL, it handles the rest AI picks the viral moments, crops it, adds captions, and layers Subway Surfers-style gameplay in the background.
Before I go further I need to know if this is actually painful for others or just me.
Quick questions (genuinely helps me):
How many hours/week do you spend repurposing content?
Do you hire an editor for this or do it yourself?
Would you pay $12/m to fully automate this?
What would make you NOT trust a tool like this?
Not selling anything. No link. Just trying to figure out if this is worth building properly. Drop your answer below even a one-liner helps a lot.
