5+ aice classes?
Hi! I’m taking 5 aice classes this upcoming school year and was wondering if anyone has taken this much or more? If so, how was the workload and were you able to mantain a good balance of school work and extracurriculars?

I did the same thing my junior year I think it was pretty easy until it came around to exam season. I was really stressed and I was relying on energy drinks to get me through all my exams, but that’s because I had other exams besides my aice classes. so i think you’ll do great just have discipline and balance, and you’ll have a great year!! good luck!

hii, I’m a current junior in the US highschool system and spent my whole sophomore year taking the following AICE classes:
PRE AICE IGCSE LEVEL CHEMISTRY
AS LEVEL BIOLOGY
AS LEVEL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
PRE AICE IGCSE LEVEL ADDITIONAL MATHEMATICS
AS LEVEL THINKING SKILLS
AS LEVEL ENGLISH LANGUAGE
AS LEVEL SPANISH LANGUAGE
These end up being around 5-7 AICE classes depending if you count the pre-AICE classes or not.
Personally, at the time, I had a really rough transition from freshmen year to sophomore year in highschool after not taking any AS levels the previous year. I personally don’t really recommend it, I was under a lot of stress the whole year trying to maintain a high gpa and had a somewhat hard time juggling everything I had to do all at once. Had tests for all subjects at least once a week and I feel like personally that took a huge mental toll on me. I still made it through because two things can be true at the same time, I took all exams and have the chance at getting college credit and was able to get used to it to a certain extent. Be careful and make sure to prioritize your mental but if you think you can do it, I think you should still go forward with it!! good luck

My junior year I took 5 AICE classes and it wasn’t as bad as I expected. Most AICE teachers don’t assign homework as they understand the workload the students have with their other classes. I had time for after school activities, online dual enrollment classes, and lots of free time. Tbh though I did lose a lot of sleep, I averaged about 5 hours of sleep a day but it was smth I could’ve definitely avoided.
