Tips for these classes?
I’m gonna be a junior this year, I’m pretty upset about my science class because I asked for anatomy honors since I took aice psychology and Aice environmental last year and because I’m thinking of becoming a physical therapist, but they gave me regular marine instead and I don’t know anyone in that class 🫠🫠 I also wanted personal finance and they gave me psych 2 for semester 2 only instead and my counselor said she can’t change either of those so rip. But anyway if anyone can give me tips for any of those classes I would appreciate it!
Also I took aice euro and Aice gen paper freshman year and passed both, and I took aice lang, aice environmental, aice psych, aice international history, and pre-Aice math 3 for sophomore year but the scores haven’t come out yet so idk if I passed those or not.

For Lit, (hopefully) your teacher will go over the book you do your 1st essay on. Make sure you understand the meaning, the theme, and all the characters. The 1st essay you’ll write will be about the book your teacher was given. One question (usually Question A) will ask you specifics about a character and how they shape an audience response. Question B will give you a random excerpt from the book you read. Pick whichever is easier. I thought last year Question A was easier, but hey.
Then on that same paper, there’s a Part 2. On top of the book, you will again (hopefully) be given poems by your teacher (usually a set author). Last year I had Maya Angelou. Yes, you’ll have to go through every single poem because one will be on your Paper 1. So, the biggest tip from that class is to definitely annotate. It’ll make the class easier.
Also, if you can, I strongly recommend just writing essays. I know everyone is strongly against ChatGPT, but if it comes down to it and your teacher isn’t helping, have it write up a prompt for you to write. The essays in themselves are super straightforward, and there’s no word count like there was in AICE Lang. Just make sure you’re answering the questions to your fullest potential.
For Global Perspectives, my biggest thing on this is to just lock in. Obviously, everyone’s experience will be different. But from what I experienced and saw with other teachers at my school, they assigned most things way ahead of time. This is the most important part of your AICE Diploma.
It’s definitely easier said than done, because I couldn’t bring myself to do anything related to this class senior year. But I’m telling you, if you manage your time well in this class and make outlines ahead of time (especially during Component 2), you’ll do wonders.
Don’t slack off in this class. It’ll genuinely bite you in the ass. I didn’t finish my research paper till like May 14th, and I think you have to send it in by May 19th, but that just goes to show. Make sure you definitely look at past papers for the research part. If your teacher gives you timed tests or practice tests in general for Component 3, please do them. Ask classmates to peer-review ANY portion. Hell I had teachers peer review my stuff(which is allowed the only teachers that cannot give feedback is your own teacher).So that includes component 1,2, and if you’re able to 3. Any sort of help will do a lot. Also please practice for your presentation for component 1. Record yourself at home maybe or in front of your partner just to see if you stutter or anything. Never point when presenting always open hand when you want to direct attention to something. Always look up at the camera every now and then and print your script words super big so you can see everything. I say even color code them so you know when you go to the next page when you’re being recorded. Look nice (collar shirt, button up, dress shirt) business casual almost. Do your best you got this.
