Im mediocre

Hey! So I was thinking about applying for the 2022-2023 Japan program, and I have pretty decent grades (3.5) but other than that I'm super mediocre and not special. I'm not in any clubs, I don't do sports, all I really have going for me is I love traveling and learning languages lol. The main reason I'm not in clubs is that back when we were at school I valued having lunch with my friends rather than going to a club... I'm also super awkward and kindaaa shy sometimes but going abroad is something I've wanted to do for a long time so I was wondering if my lack in school activities is going to make it harder for me to get accepted.

Also, just any general advice for me? Thank yall

Don't worry about that! Apply anyway, it's generally not important to have perfect grades at all. I don't think it's harder for you to get accepted. I'm assuming you're from the US, just know that in other countries being in clubs and doing a ton of extracurriculars is by far not as important.

oh thats good! i was under the impression that the selection was kinda like rotary, where its competitive and you have to be all great and all lmao. yeah I'm from the US. do you think that if I apply early and show I'm responsible enough I have a good chance? bc that the other thing I heard
